I hear my phone go off, making my bedside table lightly shake.

I'm barely awake as I detach my phone from my charger. I look at my screen and see several notifications. The latest one is from Jenna, so I open that first.

Jenna👯‍♂️:
Hey, Pumpkin! Thank goodness for only having two early classes today! Flying out this afternoon! Should be there around 3pm. Please tell me you'll still be free to meet with the rest of us at Layla's around 6pm?! I miss you!

I quickly reply.

Y/N:
I miss you too! I'll definitely head over to Layla's @ 6. I have a class at 9am and an online one at noon but that's it for me for Wednesday classes! Can't wait to see you, Love!

I check to see other notifications and they're from other friends and family asking about Thanksgiving* tomorrow.

I get out of bed and get ready for my morning class, which is just a required English-Lit course I need to take. It doesn't take me long to get ready since I just threw on a hoodie and yoga pants**. I grabbed a quick breakfast, and I was out the door in no time.

The commute to school is usually about twenty minutes, give or take, depending on traffic.

Instead of living on campus, I opted to stay at home while attending college. My mom even insisted I stay while I complete school. I swear, she just doesn't want to release me from her control. But, at least I save on food and I don't have to deal with an awkward dorm roommate and showering in co-ed bathrooms. I like the comfort of my room just fine.

Part of me feels that I might've made a mistake not living on campus, because maybe I'd meet more people and befriend others a lot easily if I were to live in a dorm. Maybe I'd even be invited to parties. But, I'm also socially anxious, so I'm okay being in the comfort of my family home for now. I don't even like parties and didn't even go to much back when I was in high school. My friends and I just hung out with each other and went to local music venues to watch bands play. That was my kind of fun.

I'm enjoying the classes and being on campus so far this semester. I've connected with some students I've met from classes, but they're more acquaintances than anything.

I'm thankful I have Phoebe and Ally to hang out with still. And, I'm grateful I can Skype the rest of the girls and Yoongi when I need to see their faces.

I'm looking forward to tonight and seeing Jenna and Layla. Ally will be joining us tonight, but unfortunately Phoebe is flying out later this afternoon to Portland, Oregon to visit family. Kellie had to remain in Southern California while Becca stayed in Rhode Island.

It's a little past 6pm. I just parked my car on the street and walked up to the front of Layla's family home. I see Layla and Ally are both standing out front. As I get closer, they notice me approaching them.

"Y/N!" Layla screams while running towards me as I walk on the neighborhood sidewalk. We get into a warm embrace, and after greeting Layla, I give Ally my usual hug. We decide to stay standing on the sidewalk right by Ally's car to wait for Jenna since Ally was planning to drive us to wherever destination we decide to head to.
