Anastasia

Hanji said I'd stay with her until the new recruits arrived, the official plan was to just pair me up with them since I was also new, but they wouldn't arrive for another few days and until then, I'd be working here as some form of Hanji's assistant. I didn't mind that at all since she was a cheerful and very smart person, sometimes a little over the top but nothing I couldn't tolerate.

She was already working when I woke up, sitting at the desk and scribbling something down. "Hanji, do you ever sleep?", I asked, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. "Why good morning, Ana.", I just had the most incredible idea, you see-"

"I am incredibly sorry, but I cannot comprehend anything right now, how about you tell me this afternoon, we have all day together anyway." She nodded, waving her hand. "Sure, sure. Let's get to breakfast then." "Can I get dressed first?" "Of course, what do you think of me? I will wait."

I nodded, taking my uniform that Hanji had gotten me yesterday and went into the small bathroom. After taking a shower, brushing my teeth and tying my hair up, I got into the uniform. It took me quite some time to remember how all these straps worked but I got it right in the end and went back to Hanji and my shared room.

"Ready?", I asked and Hanji got up. "Sure." "Is it right that way?", I asked, looking down at myself. Hanji walked around me, once, twice, looking me up and down several times. I felt like a zoo animal after sometime. "Yep, thats fine."

----

"What exactly are we doing again?", I asked, as we were on our way to the training grounds, that afternoon. When Hanji said something about testing someone's titan powers, I did not want to believe she meant human experimenting. Looking at how crazy that woman could be, it wasn't out of the possible range, but still. "Well, we want to test what Eren can do. I told you about him, right? The titan boy." I nodded.

"And why exactly am I helping with this?" "Well, I am the titan expert here and Eren is Levi's responsibility now. I mean, looking at the stats, you're not that far off from Levi's elite troop anyway. I think the one with the least kills has 7 and you killed 5 titans on your own, that's not that big of a difference. And I'm sure you and Petra would get along great too, in the end it's Levi who decides who joins the team, I don't have a say there."

"I'm really sorry, Hanji, but your explanation didn't help at all." She stopped for a second, blinking a few times, before she started talking again. "I think, looking at your skills, the elite troop would fit you better than the recruits team, so I am taking you to them as my helper so you have a higher chance at getting chosen." That explanantion was still not the best, but at least I finally understood what she meant.

We went down the stairs to where the elite troop was, as we were met by a red haired woman. "Oh hi, Petra.", Hanji greeted her. "Hello Hanji. Who did you bring?" I walked out from behind Hanji. "I'm Ana." "The civilian that killed five titans in Trost? I didn't think the rumours were true, but wow. I'm Petra."

The woman smiled, extending her hand towards me. "Nice to meet you.", I said, while shaking her hand briefly. "Pleasure is all on my side. I must say, when they said you had a ridicoulously long, unpronouncable name, I didn't expect 'Ana'." I chuckled along with her. "Oh no, Ana is just short for Anastasia Srijokowitsc."

----

It was quite late when we arived at the cantine for diner. Everyone was already there, as we sat down with the elite troop. "Hello everyone.", Hanji said, when opening the door. She introduced the three men as Auruo, Gunther and Eld, they were part of Levi's troop, along Petra.

"Then you must be titan boy? Eren, right?" The brown haired boy nodded. "Seems like the rumours have reached quite far already.", he mumbled. "Nah, Hanji just loves to talk about anything involving titans, so I heard the Trost-story twice today." The boy chuckled slightly as well as the four from the elite troup. "Yeah, that does sound like Hanji.", Petra then said. Hanji gasped a bit offended, looking over at Levi as if asking for help.

"Don't look at me like that, four eyes. You do talk way too much.", Levi just said, not looking up from his tea. "Well, the experiments went great so far, by the way.", Hanji said, ignoring what the others had just said. "Experiments? What kind of experiments?", Eren asked but Auruo interrupted him, almost panicked. "Don't ask, boy." "What did you say?", Hanji then asked. "What kind of experiments?", Eren repeated. Hanji began smiling widely and sat down next to Eren as she started talking. Poor boy, he won't get out of this before tomorrow morning.

And suddenly everyone found excuses to leave. Having something very important to do and being extremely tired out of nowhere. "Ana, we still have a few rooms to clean, you'll help, right?", Petra asked, including me in her escape plan. "Gladly", I replied.
