We were up in the trees as Eren, Auruo and Petra were arguing about why they hadn't told us anything about the plan, it took some time until it calmed down by Eld speaking about how serious the situation must be, and how there might be a spy in the survey corps.
All of a sudden there was an agonising scream coming from the direction where they'd fixed the female titan into the forest. Suddenly, titans were running into that direction, not caring about us in the slightest. What the hell was happening? But the situation got quiet after some time and we could see a blue signal flare.
We took off toget back to the horses, while everyone was bickering about their first mission and how scared someof them were. Due to this distraction we almost didn't see the green signal flare being shot up on our left side. "Guys, there.", I called out, pointing towards the green smoke. "Probably a sign from the captain.", Gunther replied and we changed course towards where the signal came from.
Suddenly, there was someone next to us, they were wearing a uniform from the survey corps, but had their hood up, it didn't seem like the corporal. "Petra? Who's that?", I asked. The others looked over at the person too. But they also didn't know who it was. Gunther called out ot them, asking who they werebut instead of replying, the person cahnged course and cut the ropes of his 3dmg, causing him to fall.
We didn't have time to react and just watched him crash into a tree. By the time Eren reached him, he was already dead. "Eren, stay close, we need to keep!", Auruo yelled, pulling Eren with him. "Stay close to Eren.", Petra called out. "We need to protect himat all costs." Tho she was interrupted by a huge explosion. The female titan had appeared again.
"The four of us will take her on. Eren you get back to the head quarters as fast as possible.", Eld instructed, but Eren didn't listen. "I want to fight too." "No, your power has way too many risks, get out of here. This is the best strategy." "Eren, you need to trust us.", Petra added and the titan boy finally turned around to fly away, after wishing us good luck.
"Ana?", Petra asked. "Yeah?" "You remember the strategies I taught you?" "Every single one.", I replied. But I was worried, those strategies were designed for fighting titans, with no inteligence, combat abilities or planning. This monster tho, it was a person inside of a titans body, those strategies might not help against it. Also, the others didn't have as much experience fighting people as I did, analysing a titans fighting style was way different from an actual person but we didn't have timeto argue about stuff like that right now, so I just followed right behind Eld and Petra as we flew towards the titan.
Eld caused a distraction while Petra and Auruo attacked the titans eyes, to make her blind. As planned, I was gooing for the achilles heel, but she'd noticed me, even without her eye sight. I would've ended up as mush on the underside of her foot if I hadn't reacted fast enough. Her hands were already already up again, to cover her neck as she stood against a tree, trying to protect her wound spot.
Auruo and Petra slight her shoulder vains to make her arms drop. From what the others explained, we should have about a minute until she could regenerate. We kept cutting into the flesh around her shoulders, destabilising her muscles, she wouldn't be able to hold her arms up much longer.
As they were finally down, we were about to attack the neck. Eld went first, when suddenly, the titan opened one of her eyes and caught Eld with her mouth, probably instantly killing him. Auruo, Petra and I stopped in her tracks.
Due to the distraction, Petra lost her balance, Auruo called out to her, as the titan started runnign towards her. I was flying towards her from the side, holding out my hand to pull her away from the titans foot, but it was faster, crushing her against the tree. She also met the ropes of my 3dmg which sent me flying away from her, Petra, Auruo and Eren. I hit several smaller branches that ripped cuts into my clothes and skin, until my 3dmg got tangled up between them, pulling me to an abrupt stop which probably fractured my hip bones a bit.
I was too far away to still see the fight and could only hear some things that were going on. I had to get back there and help Auruo or see if I Petra was still alive. She must be. I refused to believe that she was dead, it was simplyjust not possible. I reached for the rope I was hanging from with shaking hands, pulling myself up towards the branches I was tangled in. It took me way longer then it should've but I started untying the knot.
But the vranch I was standing on couldn't support my weight, so the second I'd untangled myself from the tree, I started falling. Hitting the wood and needles of the tree once more, when I had finally fallen bellow the dense part of the tree, I could use my 3dmg again and flew back towards the place I heard the fighting noise from.
But by the time I reached the place of action, the fight wasn't between human and titan anymore. It was the female titan fighting Eren's titan form. I realised, pretty quickly, that there was nothing I could do in this situation, other than go look for my comrades an see if at least one of them could still be saved.
Eld was snapped in half, Gunther probably still hanging from atree nearby, Auruo on the ground, his abdomen and hips beig completely smashed. I reached Petra a second later, checking for her pulse while just praying the two giants wouldn't notice me and wouldn't get their fight over here.
"Get up." That was Levi's voice behidn me. "Come on, we needto get Eren." I looked at him over my shoulder, before staring back at Petra and finally getting up, changing the damaged blades of my sword with new ones. He took off, knowing I'd follow.
