"They want Eren to get eaten?",  Armin asked. "Yes." Hanji told us about a conversation that Eren remebered which contained that the titan shifter powers could be passed down when a titan eats a titan shifter, which is why they likely want to feed him to someone so this person inherites his abilities. It made sense, in the weirdest way possible. "Everyone get ready to leave.", Levi ordered. We still needed to gather some of the files that the military police had here, so while the others went outside, I walked upstairs to search the offices while Hanji and Levi cleared the basement.

I had just gathered all the things, when Levi came in. "Hanji will go back to the head quarters to inform Erwin of everything we found out.", he told me. "That's good, she'll be safe that way.", I replied, gathering all the files I had gotten out of the drawers. "Yes." He took a deep breath. "Which is why you will be going with her." I turned around. "What?" "You heard me.", he said, putting on this 'end of discussion' face. "Why?" "Because this is dangerous, these people we're fighting are trained killers."

"So am I, in case you forgot." My voice was starting to raise slightly, we'd probably be yelling at each other in a matter of minutes. "I don't care, Ana, I've decided." "This... fighting people, this is the only thing I'm good at, why won't you let me do this for you guys?" "Because I've seen that look on your face yesterday and I decided I'm ever gonna bring you in a situation again where you have to kill people. I can see you hate killing people." He had his arms crossed over his chest, trying to stay calm but I knew he was probably gonna yell soon.

"Of course I do, no one really likes killing people, but sometimes it's necessary to protect the people I love and care about." "And what if something happens to you?" Now he was yelling too. "It won't, I'm the only person here you shouldn't worry about. This what I did... who I was ever since I was 8 years old. There is no logical explanation to be worried about me of all people in this scenario." "Yes, there is." I knew there was something he wasn't telling me and if I wanted him to spill it, I couldn't loosen just yet.

"Because we are not fighting some random criminal! We're fighting a man that has been very good at destroying the things I care about ever since I was young." "And why does that affect me of all people?!" "How can you be so dense.", he mumbled to himself before yelling again. "Because I fucking love you, idiot!" The room fell into complete silence for a second, he was standing directly in front of me as we stared at eachother.

Then, before I'd given my body permission to move again, I'd already closed the distance, arm saround his neck as I kissed him. It took a few seconds for him to react and just as he kissed me back, I could hear Hanji calling outside the door on the ocrridor. I stepped back, completely startled when she swung the door open and came in. Levi and I were still just silently staring at eachother.

"Did I miss something?", she asked, with a curious grin. "Here, the files.", I said, handing her the stack of paper. Then I looked back a Levi. "I'm coming with you." "Not after this.", he replied. But I was already on my way to the still open door. "Especially after this." And out the door I was. "Ana!", he called after me but I just replied: "End of discussion." Hanji caught up to me while I was walking down the stairs. "What just happened?" "I'll tell you when we all make it back safe to the head quarters with Eren and Historia, yeah?" "Sure." She hugged me goodbye, then got on her horse and left with Moblit.

Levi arrived outside short later. "You can come." He sighed. "On one condition." "Yes?", I asked. "Don't you dare die. Or get hurt, that's equally as bad. Not even a scratch, I'm warning you." I chuckled slightly, at his halfhearted warning. "I'm serious.", he then added. "I promise." "Good." We were interrupted by Connie calling over. "Hey, are you coming?" "On our way.",  I replied and we got onto the horses.

We left with the horses and stopped somewhere in the forest at one point, so that everyone could sleep a bit. Armin, Connie and Jean where sent out the next day to get groceries, when coming back, they had some papers in their hands. "The military police is handing these out, they are looking for us.", Armin explained. "They are gonna do a hunt through the forests soon and they put up stations on all big roads, we won't be able to pass through without a permit." "What do we do?", Connie asked.

"They will take at least one more day to reach the Reiss property, we need a plan to get there first." "I can hear steps.", Sasha suddenly spoke up. "They're coming towards us." "Armin and Mikasa, you come with me, the rest of you waits here and stays low profile.", Levi ordered and the three of them left. Upon returning, the three were bringing two people from the military police with them. A dark haired guy and a blonde woman.

The plan wecould think of in theshort time we had, was to get their jackets and disguise two of us as military police people to get information. Jean was pretty keenon bringing the two people away. "Sure, why not.", Levi just mumbled, before walkinh over to me. "Follow them." I nodded, walking behind Jean at a safe distance, so he wouldn't ntoice me. At one point, the three stopped, I couln't hear what they said but when Jean lifted his knife and the two suddenly looked scared, I knew what he was doing.

"Alright Jean, shows over. Drop it." Jean lookedatme over his shoulder. "He has a knife.", the guy named Marlo called out. "I know, I know." "We can't trust them.", Jean said. "I know that too." I just kept  walking towards him,he wouldn't attack me. Jean could be impulsive but he wasn't stupid, heknew that even with this knife, he didn't stand a chance. "Give me the knife, Jean." When he didn't react, I kicked the knife from his hand and caught it. "Go you two.", I told them,cutting the ropes on their wrists. "Thank you, I will definitely join the survey corps.", the guy said. "Whatever makes you happy. Come on, Jean, we're leaving."

I promised Jean on the way back that I wouldn't tell the others about his little outburst and he promised in return to not pull a stunt like this again.
