I sat at the breakfast table with the others again the next morning. Hanji hadn'teven come to the meal, since she was already off to do some experiments, I couldn't stop her this time. "And, how did the talk with Erwin go?", Sasha asked when I sat down. "I'm on the team. Levi changed his mind.", I replied and the others just stared at me. "How did you do that?", Eren asked, looking at me like I'd just grown a third eye. "Or even better...why? Who would want to be in the troop of that terror gremlin. My muscles were so sore after training yesterday, I couldn't even lift my spoon.", Jean complained. I remembered the trainign with captain Levi tho I was used to harsh training enviroments and hadn't even realised it was way above regular recruit training.

"Just wanted to stay in a team where I could actually do something important. And to be honest, Hanji drives you crazy after some time. don'tgetme wrong, she's great, my closest friend here but especially you Eren, you know how gets." "Definitely have.", he chuckled. "Alright everyone.", Connie siad, getting up. "Don't wanna be late do we?", he added. I looked over at the clock and realised we indeed were quite late. "Oh shit, we're dead." Everyone got up, hurried to bring their plates away and then rushed outside to the training grounds. Levi was already there, waiting for us.

"You're late.", he said dismissively. "10 rounds around the building as warm up, Ana you do 15." The others were about to ask what this was for but Mikasa and I just started running. The first few rounds, I ran next to the others, but after the 5th they started wearing down and I surpassedmostof them a few times,so I was done around the same time as the others, except Sasha and Connie, they were still running.

"My legs arealready getting sore, I can feel it.", Jean started complaining again. "You gotta stretch before and after training.", I explaned, showing him a few stretching excercises until Sasha and Connie arrived. "Alright, all of you get into teams of two, we're gonna do tactic training today. I will sort the teams because you need to able to fight with everyone here, not just your usual partners. Eren and Jean, Mikasa and Historia, Armin and Connie and Sasha and Ana. You get into the teams after I explained the tactic that we do today. Everyone get your 3dmg's first."

We turned and went to the supply rooms. "Hey Ana, did you heard that we will get baked potatoes for lunch today. I could smeelit at breakfast form the kitchen.", Sasha said excitedly. "Haven't heard, but it sounds good." "Yes, it's great." She was bouncing up and down even when we arrived back in front of the forest. "Ana, you help me show the tactic. We're doing number 1 today. Everyone else follows at a distance so you don't intervene."

We took off into the forest, I distanced myself from the others, following close behind the captain. "You remember what tactic one was?", he asked. "Yeah." "Good, I take my part, you do the one Eld used to have." I nodded along aswegot to the first wood titan. Captain Levi looked back making sure that everyone was in eye sight before giving me a signal to fly towards the wood titan.

I got above the titan and straightened whleturning off my gas, letting myself fall towards the wooden figure, hitting the head with the perfect angle and force to push it directly into Levi's target zone, so he just had to rush past it to slice the neck. "Everyone saw it?", Levi asked, after having stopped on a tree.

The others all nodded. "Then go." Sasha flew over to me. "That was so cool. So how do we do it?",she asked excitedly. "I'd say, I jump, you slice. I've been told, I still need to adjust to working in a team so I think it's best if you just have to fly straight and I time my jumps for that." "Sounds great. Let's goooo!" And off she was to flying through the forest.

Sasha had a good sense for orrientation and didn't take long to find one of the wooden figures. I got in front of her and in position for the jump. I landed on the right spot with the right angle ut too much force. Levi had been able to adjust his course slightly to correct my mistake, Sasha wasn't fast enough for that and just rushed past the titan. "Sorry, my fault.", I called out. "No need let's just do it again."

After training, Sasha and I walked out of the forest on our way on our way to the cantine, everyone else was also going there. The brown haired girl next to me was currentlytalkign about something as I looked overmy shoulder at Levi, who was bringing the slit pillows from the necks of the wooden titans away. "I'll be with you guys in no time, yeah?", I asked, turning back around before Sasha could even respond.

"Need any help?" Captain Levi looked over at me with slight surprise. "You can take those." He noddedtwrds some other broken stuff, I just piked them up and walked behind him. "So, what do you want?", Levi then asked. "What?", I replied, he couldn't possibly- "Don't play dumb. You're here to ask something, aren't you? What is it?" "I wanted to know... Hanji said that I must've done something on my first mission that changed your opinion me... what did I do?"

He looked at me over his shoulder with a raised eyebrow but then sighed. "Your prioritising of Petra over yourself. Sitting on the ground, covered in injuries while two 15 meter giants are fist fighting right next to you ad you're sitting there checking for an obviously dead person's pulse instead of getting somehwere safe.", he said. "And when I asked you to come withme and go after the female titan, you dind't hesitate either. That's some big trust you have on your superiors." We put the stuff donw next to the supply room.

"But now offtolunch with you, go.", he shushed me away, so I nodded and turned. "One thing tho." "Yes?", I asked. "You're trying to improve your teamwork skills?" I was unsure if it was a question but just nodded anyway. "Yes." "That's good.", he said, before just walking past me. I stood there for a few seconds before finally walking towards the catine myself. Was that a compliment I just recieved?
