Hanji

We were in Niccolo's kitchen, bathing the youg Falco and cleaning his mouth, hoping to get any spinal fluid out, that he might've caught from the wine bottle he was hit with. Ana stood next to me, helping. Tho she looked less worried than I thought she would. In general, she'd been acting weird this past few days, forgetting things, confusing people, I brushed it off as some aftermath from her time in the war. But deep down I knew it wasn't right.

We heard weird noise coming from dining room and went over. There was Floch standing in the middle of the room, pointing a gun at Onyankopon. Around them some more Yeagersists, threatening us with even more guns. "Commander Hanji. I'm glad to meet you here." "We don't want a fight with you.", I replied, calmly. "Haven't we already told you we are not negotiating with the military?" "And why not?" Floch glanced over at the people behind me as if checking for something or someone before responding.

"Because of Eren's assessing of the situation. Dot Pixis won't let us have any say in the leading of the country. Right now, he's probably finding someone to inherit the founding titan from Eren." God this boy was such a fanatic guy, maybe he should open a religion for Eren. "How the hell did they know we were here?" "Well, we have some friends. 31, come over here." 31? Who is 31? Where did I hear that before? Floch looked over at one of the women. "Luise, get her a gun." Ana stepped out from between us, her expression was blank as she took a gun and a rifle from the woman and went to stand next to Floch.

The woman from Kennys troop! She'd called her 31 too, it had something to do with the anchor. "Ana, what are you doing?!", Connie exclaimed, staring at her in shock. Ana didn't reply, didn't even flinch, she stood up straight, staring ahead like a carved figure. "Floch, we can't use infighting right now. Look, just let Ana go, yeah?" "Oh but she's a nice chess piece, isn't she?" That red head was completely insane.

I jumped forward wanting to hit him for whatever he did to Ana, but Floch just stepped back nodded at her and Ana jumped in, easily blocking my attack, twisting my arm and throwing me sideways. "Back in line, 31." Ana stepped to the side as we were handcuffed. "Bring them to their cells. 31, make sure they arrive there and then you come back to the agreed meeting spot. No talking to anyone." Ana didn't respond, didn't agree or even nod. She didn't need to. The way Floch ordered her around so naturally, he knew she wouldn't refuse any order he gave her.

But what made him so sure of that and how the hell did he get Ana into this state of mind? She walked behind the people who brought us down into the cells and then took all the keys and walked back to the door. She didn't give a single reaction when the others called after her. Just kept walking. "What the hell happened to her?" "Why is Ana helping those Yeagerists?!" I sighed, hearing Jean and Connie say these things with deep frustration in their voice.

"One thig is sure, this isn't Ana. Did you hear how he called her by this number? The one that she told us, is from the Anchor?" "My god, right. But how did he find out and what does this have to do with the way she's acting?", Jean asked. "I don't know. And if she didn't even tell me, there's only one other person that can help." "Captain Levi.", Armin responded sitting down against the wall. "But how do we get to him?"

Some Yeagerists came back short later, dragging me out the cell and up to a carraige. Ana was on a horse next to us. She hadn't looked at me once ever since the conflict in Niccolo's restaurant. We reached the training grounds where Shadis was working with the 109th cadet regiment. He was currently explaining something when we showed up. Floch told him that the Yeagerists had taken over the government and that the cadets should work for them instead of listening to Shadis.

Indeed, some of the cadets stepped foreward, tho they hesitated when Floch told them to beat Shadis up until he didn't move anymore. "Floch, that is insane-" But Shadis interrupted me. "Don't worry Commander, no matter how many of them attack me, they won't win." We had to stand by as all the cadets teamed up and took Shadis down. It took only minutes until he was in the ground, covered in blood and bruises. "Now, we have a new coach for you. Someone who's got more experience with fire arms and other weapons than the rest of us."

Floch stepped aside as Ana walked to stand next to him. "You will listen to her from now on. Training starts tomorrow." Floch turned to Ana and nodded towards the door. They started walking again while I was being dragged along. "And now, Commander Hanji, you will tell us where Zeke is." "Why should I?", I spat out. "31. Leverage." It was only one word but Ana seemed to understand, she lifted her gun and held it to the side of her head. "Ana! Ana stop!", I yelled but she didn't react, Floch looked at me over his shoulder.

"She's not gonna hesitate if I tell her to shoot. That's the best thing about the state she's in, I could tell her to stop breathing and she'd just fall over and die." He chuckled. Oh how much I wanted to break is jaw for doing Ana so dirty. "It's noting personal.", Floch then added. "You wouldn't. As you said she's an important chess piece, you couldn't loose her.", I threw in, hoping to reveal a bluff. "Wanna bet?" I heard the clicking from the gun as Ana was cocking it. "Okay, okay..... I'll tell you." "That's what I thought." Ana finally put the gun down after I agreed.
