Anastasia

That evening, I sat with Sasha and the others at dinner when the man from this morning came up to our table again. "Anastasia?" I looked up from my plate. "Mh?" "Commander Erwin wants to see you in his office after dinner." He didn't even wait for my reply before leaving. "Ana? What did you do?", Eren asked. "Nothing, really. Had a little argument with captain Levi but that's about it.", I replied. "And you're still alive?!" The titan boy looked at me in shock. "It wasn't that bad, really. Just a little argument. I got him to reconsider letting me back into the elite squad."

I stood in front of Erwin's office around 10 minutes after dinner. After taking a deep breath, i knocked. "Come in.", I heard frominside but when I opened the door, it wasn't just Erwin there. Levi and Hanji were present too. "Sit down, I got some question about your former occupation." I slowly walked over to his desk, sitting donw in the second chair across, from him, Hanji sat on the other one while Levi was standing leaned against the wall.

"I suppose Levi has told you what I told him. It was a set up, right?", I asked and Erwin looked up from my file in surprise. "You really are a smart one.", he then said. "Told ya she's great.", Hanji smirked proudly. "Now, the Anchor. Is there any names you could tell us that might still be in business?" I shook my head. "They didn't tell us their real names. For safety reasons. Most of the executive team is dead. I'm not sure if the other children are somewhere out there. It's not many, 200 tops. But I also don't know their names."

Erwin nods, he seemed a little disappointed, I could undertsand him there but they wouldn't find these people even when looking for them, since they simple just didn't exist here. "Alright, then I suppose now we just need some more information on your skill set so we can use it properly." "What would you use an assassins skill set for?", I asked before being able to stop myself. Maybe it was a bit inappropriate to question my superior like this but I couldn't help but wonder.

"You told Levi they also trained you for spoinage. The military police is gettig closer and closer to compeltely shutting us down. They're sabotaging us, managed to forbid any further expeditions... I just think it would be good to have someone whit spionage skills. And of course in case we can't negotiate around confrontation, we might need someone with experience in fighting people, most of our soldiers can only handle titans... some not even them."

I nodded slowly, undertsanidng his reasoning. He didn't need me to kill anyone, that was relieving. "Well, I was trained in different close combat styles, spionage, all types of weapons and things you ould use as weapons, basic anatomy which then leads to medical knowledge." "So if we don't have a doctor at hand...?" I nodded at Erwin's question. "Yes, I could do basic procedure, not a lung transplantation of course, but basic first aid and some more."

"You mentioned beign trained with weapons, what kinds are wetalking about and what do you mean by 'things that could be used as weapons'?", Erwin asked, while adding some stuff to my file. "Well, all kinds of shooting weapon, swords and knives, axes, crossbows. And things one could use as a weapon is stuff like shovels, sciccors or knitting needles." "Knitting needles?", Hanji asked, seeming way too excited about this topic. "Alright, then that's about it for today.", Erwin said, him and Levi completely ignoring Hanji's weird reaction.

"Can I put her on my team now?", the captain asked annoyed. "Sure, you convinced me." "Convinced you?", I asked. "I thougth he was the one that didn't trust me." I nodded towards Levi. "you're talking about Levi and my conversation on your second day here.", Erwin asked chuckling. "That was staged.", Levi then explained before Erwin chimed back in. "It was Levi who wanted you for his team, but I said not before we know the whole story."

These people had really made me fall for more set up in the two months that I'd been here than I had fallen for in my whole time at the Anchor. They really had a thing for tricking people. "I hope your not mad.", Erwin then said, probably seeing the wheels in my head turning. "Of course not, I undertsand that this was a safety measure." "Well then. Everyone off to bed." With that being said, Erwin got up from his chair, followed by Hanji and I. We were on our way to the door when I turned back to Erwin.

"All the information we discussed here is confindential, right?" The commander nodded. "Of course, miss Srijokowitsc." Then suddenly, captain Levi spoke up: "I expect you on the training grounds tomorrow with the others. Don't be late." "I won't be.", I replied before leaving the room alongside Hanji.

"See everything turned out just fine.", she said cheerfully. "Did you know?" "Nope. I never would've guessed Levi trusts you, must've did something really convincing." I looked over at her. "Didn't Erwin say he wanted me for his team from early on?", I asked. "He thougth about it, yeah, but I remember up until the first mission he didn't trust you much. Something must've happened there that convinced him." I shrugged. I didn't like remember that mission, and just like that right now I couldn't think of something I did there that was so drastic as to change his opinion.
