Aubrey POV

While I was packing my suitcase in my room I heard Caitlin's voice echo in my head.

„But you fucking did..." it was her voice all the time mixed with in between mine when I felt like her four years ago.

But now that I know how Lizzie felt I think I should have gone a bit easier on her. But all I did was separate myself from her so that I can think and heal properly.

After some time I got ready to leave and I walked down seeing Caitlin stand in the living room looking out the window directly into our driveway.
I seem this is another glas of wine in her hand it's almost empty.

„Can you please let me fix what we had? I can't live knowing that we won't be friends like we used to be years ago." I interrupted her mind space and she didn't turn around to face me.

„It's not that easy bre." she replied blankly trying not to show any emotions.

„I know it's not easy but please let me know how I can make it better? I've lost enough people in my life. I don't want to lose another one."

„Bre we broke up. People that break up can't be friends." she replied siping on her wine.

„Why's that?" I asked and she scoffed.

„Is that Lizzie's car?" she asks pointing out the window into my driveway. She tries to get me away with this topic but I'm not letting lose so easy.

„Does that matter so much now? I wanted to talk to you." I replied stepping closer and now she turned around facing me.

„It is isn't it?" she questioned again with a stern look.

„I-w well yes. But that's not important."

„Of course it is. As soon as we officially over you scoop onto her again."

„I've told you so many times that I didn't do anything with her. I just showed her the pictures in my gallery and the paparazzi took the pictures from a shitty angle so that it looks like she is doing something to me. I've never cheated I swear to god. I still care for you and I always will just please don't hate me."

„That's the fucking problem. I don't even hate you. How can I? I love you. But the biggest problem is that you will never love me the way you did when you where with Lizzie. She's the one for you and I made you realize it. You always looked at me in a curtain way. As if you where searching for something you missed. But I wasn't able to fill this hole in your heart. Accept the fact that you love her. Let me go. We will meet each other again after some time but don't make it harder as it already is." she responded while she slightly raised her voice. I stepped back in hurt as I felt how my tears builded up.

„You'll always have a special place in my heart. Doesn't matter if we are together or not I just want you to know that."

„not the place I wished it would be. So please. Leave You have a flight to catch." she replied pointing her arm out to the door signing me I should leave.

I watched her reaction for some seconds before deciding to leave without saying another thing.
I placed everything in the car and drove off to Lizzie's place. My eyes where letting tears fall constantly throughout the way back to my destination.

I parked the car and walked out after taking some minutes to calm myself down. I whipped my face trying to hide my red puffy eyes but nothing was helping. I placed my sunglasses on even though it's not sunny at all just to cover up the fact that I cried the whole time.
I walked in placing the keys down on her side table in the hallway making my way to her silently.
