Narrator POVThe break Lizzie and Aubrey had wasn't good at all.
Both got lost in an ocean of emotions and they felt like they where drowning.Lizzie wasn't acting and behaving like she used to do and Aubrey neither. Lizzie was drowning in sorrow and self hate while Aubrey was drowning in
confusion, hurt and the feeling of being worthless. Both knew that this wasn't able to last long. The distance is killing them and both hate it to be separated. Lizzie was shutting herself off from the outside world while Aubrey was being a workaholic trying to distract herself from everything that has happened recently.
Aubrey POV
„So how's it going with my bestie?" Ben asked me while we sat at a café. It was pouring outside and I was a bit distracted by the rain splashing at the window.
Clearly the weather is a good compare to my emotions. Depressing and falling into a pit of self hate. That I let her go that easy. That she didn't even put up a fight.
„Bre? You there?" Ben placed his hand on mine dragging me back out of my thoughts.
„Hmm sorry. What did you say?"
„I asked how is it going? Clearly not that well. I'm sorry that we haven't seen each other in a while. But I heard some stuff from Vi and I needed to see you." he gave me a caring look and I only nod it him.
„It's just all a mess right now. I should be with Lizzie but it looks like she doesn't want me anymore." I sipped on my green tea while Ben leaned back into his chair.
„I don't believe that. Maybe she has something in her mind that she might be afraid to tell you.
I haven't seen a lot from you but from what I've heard is that she is the perfect fit for you and also the other way around. Relationships can get messy but this comes with it. Where happiness is sadness and where light is will be dark. Nothing can live with the other you know that." he elaborated and I missed the deep talks we used to share.„Thanks buddy. You have no idea how much I needed to hear this. It helps a lot." I replied giving him a half smile so he wouldn't worry that much.
„So. Did you punch that son of a bitch correctly?" he asked making me laugh for the first time in weeks.
„Not enough but he will definitely remember my punch." I flexed my arm muscle for fun and he laughed along with me.
„Great. If not I'll be happy to help. I don't really have a good feeling about this ass." he replied and I nod knowing exactly what he meant.
„If you'd only know. He said some messed up shit. He deserved every punch I gave him. I'd do it in a heartbeat again."
„That's the bre I know. Come on high five for that." we high five each other and it felt like we where college students for a short moment.
„Now. How do you plan on winning Lizzie back? Or did you plan on doing nothing?" he asked and I shook my head.
„No I actually did plan something. I have a canvas that was meant for her. I also wanted to give her a letter. Tell her how I feel because I don't know what else to do. I actually packed everything up in the gallery. I just need the guts to go talk to her."
I replied and he nod drinking some coffee.„She should be fighting for you and not the other way around but it's good that you don't give up on what you builded."
„I know. She should be the one making a move but I'm done with waiting. I want her back and I'd move mountains for her if I have to."
