Lizzie POVMy eyes where locked on Aubrey driving. She was concentrated on the ride which is good but she glanced to me from time to time when we stopped at a red light or something.the drive went well and it didn't take us long to reach the airport.
She parked the car and we got our suitcases to head in.We placed our suitcase aside and waited for getting in. They let us go through first and we where guided to the first class section immediately.
„Miss the flight will take off now so we would like you to buckle up. Can we Serve you anything?" the flight attendant asked us and Aubrey glanced at me
„You can order everything you like if you want anything." I nod and turned my attention to the flight attendant.„A mint tea with some honey would be lovely."
„Of course. Miss Mathews can I get you anything as well?" she asked her by her name and it didn't surprise me that she knows her since she's a lot on stage and in the media.
„I'm good for now but thank you." she replied giving her a soft smile and she left.
„How long has it been that you've been in New York?" I asked and pulled Aubrey's attention to me.
„Six months ago actually. Not that long. And you?" she asked back and I had to think about it for a moment.
„Probably more than ten years. I didn't really travel that much. Or let's not say to New York." I replied and she nod glancing back out the small window.
„Well it won't really be vacation for me. It never was since my parents passed." she answered referring on her parents Death.
„You say you give the law firm of your father away to another one who will be the boss. What is it about your moms psychology office?" she looked surprised at my question.
„Well since I did study psychology as well I'll lead beside the other ones. I've worked a lot there and I've tried my best to keep up with what my mom has created but at some point I couldn't handle it anymore. I stepped back and the team was absolutely understanding and caring as well. Since I stepped back I Visite from time to time and watch the financial situations. Nothing much but they always enjoyed having me around. She had a great team." she answered smiling sadly at me.
„I hope to see the place you've worked in. Is the law firm good as well?" I questioned and she scoffed.
„Absolutely not. Their the shittiest persons I've met. Not understanding or caring at all. They even told me it was my fault that he died. It's horrible that's why I don't want to go there. But at least I'll be done after." hearing that they let her feel guilty makes me angry. It hurts to hear that people think like that. She glanced back out the window watching the city getting smaller and smaller now finally disappearing under the clouds.
„Y‚know it's not your fault right?" I didn't get a respond and I placed my hand on her lower arm stroking it.
„Bre." I gained her attention back and she looked at me.
„Don't think that it's your fault because it isn't okay!" I repeated myself and she only nod softly at me.
„Yeah. I know it's not. But it still feels like it."
She replied and if I'd be in her shoes I'd probably think the same.Aubrey fell asleep after some time and I was just watching her being so calm and even. She shrugged together from time to time and I asked the flight attendant for a blanket.
After the flight...
„Hey bre wake Up. We landed." I stroked the lose hair strain out of her face and she hummed lowly.
