Bonding

Narrator POV

Lizzie wasn't sure how she should handle the situation. The fact that her girlfriend can't get any children is burdening her as well.
As she said „there are other options and she can get pregnant as well" she didn't realize that she might have hurt Aubrey with those words even if she wasn't intentionally.

She realize only now that it's not the same to get an adoptive child. Aubrey wanted to have this experience with her body and now she won't be able to have this ever.
She just hopes that Aubrey wants to have kids one day. It can wait and it's not something that should be rushed because getting a kid is a huge life decision.

But she really wants to build a little family with her.
She's the only person that comes to Lizzie's mind.
Nobody else could replace her. She's the one.

Lizzie still felt like Aubrey needs to open up about this with someone else. That someone should be Gabriella. She's her mother and she can help her go through it. So she decided to call her and walked outside so Aubrey couldn't hear what she said.

„Lizzie! What a nice surprise to hear from you how are you guys doing?" Gabriella replied sponsor instantly sounding happy to hear from them.

„Hey Gabriella. I don't know how to say it but I think we I mean Aubrey needs you here. Can you come over?" Lizzie asked while tossing around.

„That doesn't sound good. What's wrong?"
She asked her daughter's girlfriend and Lizzie didn't know if it was right to call her mother into this.

„It's just something that I don't want to talk about on the phone. Besides this is something that Aubrey should tell you personally and I just think she needs her mother right now. I did what I could and she really makes me worry or else I wouldn't ask for you to come over I know your busy with work and all-."

„No stop it Lizzie that's totally fine. I'll always be there for Aubrey no matter what. You kinda scare me and I think it's something serious so I'll be there as fast as I can. Should I bring anything with me? Or do you need anything?"

„No I'm fine so far... I'm just worried for bre that's all. She's been down ever since she came home from the hospital and this was almost more than a month ago."

„Okay. Alright. I'm on my way. See you in an hour."
And Gabriella hung up the call leaving Lizzie back to Aubrey.

„Hey who did you call?" Aubrey asked as Lizzie walked back in closing the yard door.

„Just work. I'm taking a couple days off."

Aubrey raised a brow.

„I hope you don't do it so you can keep an eye on me." Lizzie shook her head and sat down on the couch next to bre.

„Of course I did. But not to look after you. I just want to spend more time with you even if it's just us at home. I missed you and I know it might sound silly but sometimes I miss you even if you sit right next to me. Because I'm really convincing my mind that you are here with me."

„I'm always with you. Even if I'm not. I'm always here." she pointed her finger onto Lizzie's heart area and she gave her a soft smile.

„I love you babe." Lizzie replied and gave her a soft kiss.

„Love you More." Aubrey replied in between the kiss.

„Did you order something?" Aubrey asked Lizzie as she heard the doorbell ring after and hour of cuddling.

„No but I'll go look." she replied and disappeared in the hallway.

„Hey. Thanks for coming over so fast."
They hugged shortly and walked into the living room where Aubrey looked surprised and confused.
