---NARRATOR---
The meeting ended smoothly and everyone was impressed with the business proposal. Alex's department manager was congratulating and praising Luna and her colleagues efforts and assured them that they will look into the proposal with open minds. Alex let his employees sing their praises, he quickly slipped out of the room and took a detour around the building so he wouldn't have to face her. He and Gigi did a tour of the whole building while working just so he wouldn't have to see her but he should have known Luna would still find a way to see him because she was already waiting in his office when they finally came back. He should've just went home he thought to himself.
"How can I help you Ms. Mercado?" Gigi said with the fakest smile she could muster. One of the reasons Gigi is an excellent secretary is because she's perceptive. She must've asked either Ed or Anthony why he and Riley were acting weirdly with her arrival. Alex wonders if she's already told Emily though.
"I just need a minute of Mr. Altamerana's time." Luna answered just as brightly.
"I'm afraid that won't be possible as Mr. Altamerana's a busy a man."
"Alex, it will only take a minute." She said to him instead and ignoring Gigi altogether. Gigi wanted to reach out and grab her by the ear and drag her out if she could.
Alex was tired, he knows how determined she could be so he just nodded just to get it over with. He walked to his office followed by Luna who quickly grabbed the box she left in her seat. Gigi wanted to smack him. What was the point of their tour of the whole building if he was gonna end up meeting with her privately anyway? She's his ex! She decided to call Ed instead to voice her frustrations about his bestfriend and also to learn more about this woman too.
"What do you want?" Alex asked as he sat down and pretended to read through some documents laying around his desk.
"You didn't even say hi." Luna said as she laid the box down on the coffee table and sat in front of him.
"Get to the point." He said coldly without looking at her. His eyes trained on the empty folder he decided to pretend to read.
"Ouch, that's harsh but I guess I deserve that." She smiled meekly at him, he didn't say anything.
"You looked shocked when you saw me, so I take it your cousins didn't tell you I'm coming." She paused in case Alex wanted to say something but he remained stoic, his face obscured by the folder he was clearly holding upside down. Luna wanted to point it out but she decided not to. She can tell he's nervous because why else would he make such a funny mistake.
"I knew it was too good to be true. I knew you wouldn't have accepted if you knew I was coming but I still hoped you knew and that you were fine with it."
"Ms. Mercado, is that it? I'm a busy man and I need to get going." Alex finally said as he put the folder down.
"Ms. Mercado. Wow, you only ever call me that during---"
"If you have nothing important to say you can leave." He said firmly his eyes finally meeting hers. His eyes were devoid of emotion, as if he was talking to someone insignificant and a waste of time. Unlike the look of love and concern he used to have for her.
Luna wanted to apologize, tell her she's sorry and maybe even beg for forgiveness but somehow the words just won't come out. She was so self-assured when she left Australia, she was confident when she literally stole the opportunity from her colleague, she was poised when she was giving her presentation an hour ago but now all her confidence has gone out the window. Now she just wants to beg. Beg him to take her back, beg him to start over, beg him to forget that she ever left. She took a deep breath, it's now or never. If begging is the only option then she's willing to do just that.
