Kugo let out a small groan as his eyes slowly fluttered open. "Damn it we're still here." He mumbled seeing all the sharp knives that littered the room around him. He winced as he tried to push himself up having forgotten about the two gashes across his back. Looking over to his left he couldn't help but smile.
Sakyh was out. Her hair fanned out all over the pillows and plush toys, one arm out by his head while the other rested over her head on her hair and her legs bent with her knees leaning against each other to stay pointed toward the ceiling.
"You sleep weird Mommy," Kugo mumbled as a yawn left him. He wasted no time in cuddling back up to her side.
"Hm?" Sakyh hummed as her eyes slowly blinked open. Looking toward her left she smiled as Kugo met her eye. "Well good morning Kugo."
"We are not getting up yet." He voiced wiggling more before huffing.
Sakyh giggled before adjusting to lay on her side. Her arms gently tugged the boy to her chest like she knew he wanted.
"You're not supposed to lay like this!" Kugo scolded though cuddled closer to her.
"I think I'll be fine for a little bit. I know this is your favorite sleeping position."
Kugo stayed quiet as he buried his face against her chest. "Your skin is soft and you're always warm."
"We probably need to get up soon though. I don't trust Shigaraki at all, Kurigiri doesn't seem so bad after last night though."
"I don't like Mr. Chapped, he's creepy."
Sakyh giggled at the nickname before burying her face in Kugos hair. She gave herself a minute to enjoy the peaceful moment while they had it. Pushing Kugo away gently she sat up to look around. It didn't look like anyone had entered the room after Kurigiri left.
"Do your ribs still hurt?" Kugo questioned.
"They do," Sakyh told him before turning her eyes to her arm. "Let's see if my quirk healed me at all or if that ability finally disappeared. Wanna help?"
Kugo crawled into one of her legs and helped undo the knot. He watched anxiously hoping that her gash was gone. His mood dropped seeing that the wound was still there and seemed untouched from her quirk. "You never told me there was a chance your ability could go away."
"I didn't want to worry you. When we found the ability the doctors theorized that maybe while I was still getting my quirk under control that I somehow stored the healing ability within my body. I was always singing as a kid so it was possible especially since there wasn't really anything to put the healing to use on."
"So is there a chance that you could do it again? Like since you know how to use it now you could focus on yourself and store it back up?" Kugo asked hopefully.
Sakyh let a yawn leave her as she scratched her head. "I don't know. I probably need to get an exam to see if anything changed. But, I promise to try and see if I can once we"re both out of here and all better." She told Kugo while holding a pinky finger out to him.
Kugo quickly locked his around hers then plopped himself back against her chest. "Can we go back to bed now? Or are we going to try and steal some food before looking for a way out?"
"Let's go steal some food. How's your back by the way? I'm sure it still hurts."
"Of course it hurts," Kugo huffed. He slowly pulled himself from her and turned around to let her undo the bandages. "I'm not a cry baby when it comes to pain."
