Since Edward got together with Bella things for the Cullen family got harder, with Victoria following and threatening her, all of the members of the family were stressed, especially Jasper. Not only he could feel the tiredness and sadness flooding in his house, but also he knew that having you by his side wasn't safe for you, and he wished he could've known you on another time, a more calm one, so he could be happy by your side without worrying about anything.

He knew that his family wanted him to stop seeing you, not because they didn't want to keep you safe, but because Victoria didn't know that you were with him, so it was better if things went that way still, but Jasper wasn't having any of it, more than anything, he wanted to be with you and make sure that you were safe and nothing could harm you. Still, his family insisted, having many conversations with him, in fact, he was in the middle of one. A heated conversation.

"Jasper, we can't be protecting Bella, making sure that Victoria doesn't get close to her, taking care of his father and your girlfriend" Rosalie shouted at him, it wasn't her intention to sound so harsh with his brother, but the fact that she was taking care of Bella wasn't one of her favorite activities. It wasn't that she didn't like you either, in fact, she did, but she just wanted to have one less worry in her mind.

"I already told you, Rosalie, that I'm not going to get away from her" he said harshly, standing up, his eyes fiercer than ever.

"Jasper, is for her well-being," Carlisle said in a softer manner to his son, who he could understand why he was so mad, but still wanted to make him realise the situation.

"It's not happening, Carlisle"

Carlisle just looked at his wife, a defeated look in his eyes. The conversation died for a moment before Edward spoke.

"We have other things to take care of, Jasper" he said way harsher to his brother, already angry at him for not doing what his family said.

"And Bella is that "other things", Edward? Do you ever stop to think, for one second, that you are not the only one worried about your mate? I worry about (Y/N) as much as you do with Bella, and not because she is the one in danger here I'm going to let my mate go on with her life without me to keep her safe, you hear me?"

Edward had to step back a bit, he knew how his brother could be when he got angry, and the last thing the Cullen needed was a fight inside the house. It was evident that Jasper was turning into the man he once was before, that's why everyone decided to keep quiet. Jasper opened his mouth to keep talking, but before any word came out of his mouth, his expression dulled and he sat down on the couch that was close to him, clearly upset and defeated.

"You can take everything, my possessions, my life, but please, don't take her" his family clearly taken aback from his sudden change, not only relaxed but felt bad for him, instantly making everyone feel bad for what they wanted to do, but still, no one talked.

Emmett who was sitting on the arm the couch, said, raising his hand slightly. "Permission to speak freely?"

"What, Emmett?" Esme asked sweetly to his son, trying not to make everyone fight again. She didn't agree with anything that her family was saying to Jasper but decided not to speak, she didn't want to fight with anyone.

"What everyone is saying is just fucking stupid" Jasper raised his head from his hands to look at Emmett with curiosity. "He just wants to make sure his mate is safe and he clearly is suffering from it, why make it harder for him? Just let him do what he thinks is right"

Carlisle sighed, he was mentally tired and felt bad for trying to make his son do something against his will and something he knew it was hurting him so bad.

"He is right, Jasper, I'm deeply sorry for trying to make you do something that you didn't want to and that involved (Y/N), I know how much you care about her, everything that we said, forget it" Carlisle said looking at Jasper with soft eyes and Jasper knew he regretted everything he said, he could feel it, as well as he could feel it with the rest of his family.

The living room cleared out in a matter of seconds, everyone going back to what they were doing before, but not before Emmett slightly turned around to look at Jasper one more time, the latter sending a grateful smile to him.

After all, things turned out better than he expected.
