Carlisle | I SEE FIRE

Context: Carlisle has to defend his choice to turn you. After the Cullen's hear your story, they understand why he did what he did.

Warnings: VERY TRIGGERING!!! Mentions of rape and abuse and death. Do not read if you get triggered easily.

You weren't sure how it happened or even why it happened. Carlisle had been there to see it all, saving you in a way you didn't know existed. You knew who the Cullen's were and knew who Carlisle was. Your mother, before she passed, was a very close nurse to the good doctor and introduced you to him not long ago. But she was diagnosed with cancer and it killed her before she had a chance to fight it.

He sat in front of you now, watching you intently as you both waited for the rest of his family to get home from hunting. You were listening intently as they came up the stairs into the beautiful house. You shot to your feet and stood as close to Carlisle as possible. Edward had already warned them that you were there and so did Alice. Esme seemed a little surprised but not disappointed. Emmett had a grin on his face and Rosalie looked pissed.

"Carlisle what have you done?" Edward asked. He was standing defensively in front of his family.

"I had to Edward. You of all people can understand that." Carlisle said, squeezing your arm.

"What happened?" Esme asked, walking around Edward and coming face to face with you.

You looked at Carlisle for confirmation before you told everyone what happened.

"I was walking with a boy I had met in one of my classes. He seemed really interested in me and wanted to get to know me. So we set up a time to meet near the bluffs. And when I got there, he hadn't shown up. So I waited and waited and then I heard a commotion coming from behind me." You paused, not knowing how to continue. "It gets worse from here."

You paced by the window at this point. Everyone had dispersed onto the furniture in the room, except for Jasper who stood close to you. Carlisle had told you about Jasper and his past and you knew he was there to protect you and his family.

"It was bad. I was surrounded by six of them, all of them wearing masks to cover their mouths. They came towards me with bats and clubs, waving them in the air. I was so scared." You could feel a calm wash over you and knew that Jasper was just trying to help.

"They attacked me, beating me to near death before throwing me off the cliff. I'm pretty sure I was raped at one point but I can't remember I was already in so much pain." If you could cry you would. "I just remember thinking that this was it. I was going to die this horrible way. I was going to meet my mom and have to tell her what happened to her daughter. She probably already knows now but still." You turned to look at the family. Carlisle had taken a seat and was staring down at his hands. Esme had her hand over her still heart. If she could shed tears, she would be bawling. Rosalie had calmed and was looking at the floor away from everyone. Emmett looked pissed and was ready to fight someone. Edward and Alice were standing near the entrance way looking at each other. Jasper stood right next to you, hand on your shoulder.

"As my body hit the water, I felt the air leave my lungs, thinking that that was the last breath I would ever take. The fear left my body and the pain subsided. I felt darkness cloud my vision and knew that I was going to die and embraced it. That was until I felt a searing hot pain enter my body and knew it could never be the end for me."

Carlisle looked at you with so much hurt in his eyes.

"I watched her body fall off the cliff after I heard screaming. I had pulled over to get to her as fast as I could." Carlisle said. He stood and walked towards you, embracing you. "I pulled her almost lifeless body from the water and put her in my car. I knew she couldn't make it back to the house so I could finish doing what my mind had already decided. No one deserves to die that way."

He looked at his family and waited for them to say something.

"Did you even ask her if she wanted this?" Rosalie asked.

"I didn't ask Edward when I changed him." Carlisle pointed out.

"He didn't have to. When I awoke, he asked me if I was okay with this life and I told him that I didn't want to die the way I had, and that this was what my saving grace was. I have so much I wanted to learn and thanks to Carlisle saving me, I now can do that." You said, interjecting them.

Rosalie stood and walked out of the room. "Ignore her. She misses her human life." Emmett said, walking up and hugging you. "If I ever find those bastards who did that to you, their life is mine for the taking." He smiled down at you and walked away.

Jasper smiled and walked towards Alice who smiled at you as well. "I'm glad to have another sister in the family." She twirled around and left the room with Jasper not too far behind her. Edward, Esme and Carlisle looked at you, Esme coming up to you first.

"I'm so sorry that you had to experience that. I can't even imagine the amount of pain you endured. But I'm here to tell you that you will never have to experience that again. Not while I'm still on this earth." She kissed your cheek and walked back over to Carlisle who took her hand and kissed it.

"Edward you don't have to brood around in the corner of the room." Carlisle said.

"I'm sorry. I just don't know what to say." Edward said, nodding in your direction. "I hope you find refuge here with us. I'm happy to have you join us."

And with that, you were part of the Cullen clan. Officially becoming Y/N Cullen.
