Paul was someone who you never saw eye to eye with. Any time you two spoke about something, it always ended up in an argument. Your friend group was pretty sick of this, but it was just how things were.

Paul was a hot-head. Everyone knew this, and there was something about you that ticked him off every time. You tried figuring it, asking your friends, specifically Jared, as he was the closest to Paul, but he hasn't been at school for weeks, so he wasn't much help.

"I have no idea, (Y/N). You both just irritate each other. Maybe it's best just to not talk to one another anymore," Quil tells you one day after school. Jacob was walking on your other side, staying quiet about the situation.

It had been a couple days since you last saw your friends, after a huge fight with Paul happened. You all went to the beach for a nice, relaxing weekend away from homework, but things escalated entirely too quickly.

You were chatting with Embry, apparently too loud for Paul's liking from across the bonfire that your date Evan started.

"Do you have to talk so fucking loud, (Y/N)?!" He spits out, glaring at you harshly. You stare back at him, dumbfounded.

"Excuse me?" Your eyes narrow at him.

"You are talking over literally everyone here, and you're sitting not even two feet from Embry. Lower your fucking voice." You laugh bitterly and stand up. Paul, sensing your anger, rises as well to confront you.

"I can talk as loud as I want. Which, by the way, I wasn't even talking so loud. It's just that no one else is saying anything. So of course my voice is going to sound louder!"

"Why are you always so bitchy?!" He bites back.

"Because you're so incredibly irritating and I can't stand you! You always have a problem with me!"

"You always have a problem with me!"

"Because you're constantly ridiculing me for absolutely nothing!" You two were now up close with one another, in each other's faces, ready to defend yourselves. Jacob pulls you back and forces you into Evan's arms. He drags you away from the bonfire while the others keep Paul from lunging any further.

"But if I stop hanging around him, I have to stop hanging around all of you. And it'll be awkward if we are still around each other but not talking. It forces the group apart, and I don't want that."

"Then you're going to have to find a way to get along," he shoves your shoulder as you walk to your car. Just then, Embry and Paul walk up to you three, a sheepish grin on Embry's face.

"Paul has something to say," Embry announces. He shoves Paul's shoulder to step a little closer to you, and Paul scoffs at him for doing so.

"I'm not apologizing for anything. I stand by what I said," he explains, crossing his arms. Jacob pushes you back a little bit, not wanting the worst to happen.

"Why do you always have to be such an asshole?!"

Paul goes to respond, but his breathing begins to increase rapidly. You, Embry, Quil, and Jacob watch him curiously.

"Paul, what's going on?" Embry wonders, going to touch his shoulder, but Paul swats his hand away.

"I don't know. I feel weird," he murmurs, stepping away from the group. "I-I can't..." He suddenly runs off, despite his car still being in the parking lot.
