The two of you spent a considerable time in the woods, where it was quiet and you could be alone to talk. After getting the confusing stuff out of the way, which you're still confused about, you move onto small talk; Paul is more willing to share but you've always been more reserved than most. When conversation moves onto deeper things you abruptly stand from the place on the moss covered floor, where you both sat, and suggest a walk as a distraction. He leaves the questioning at that, sensing that you are uncomfortable, and adds it to the list of things you would have to initiate, when you were ready.

Taking the lead, you head for a break in the trees, hoping it wasn't the one you'd come from earlier. You don't need to look behind to know Paul is following; your body tingles with his closeness. Heat rises in your cheeks at the thought of how close he was and the reminder of how close the two of you had been in the clearing; inches from a kiss. You try to dismiss the thought but find it impossible to concentrate on anything else and don't realise just how long it has been without anyone speaking. You lose your footing and stumble on a ditch and almost plummet to the ground but Paul reacts with lightning speed, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you flush to him. Your heart thumps in your chest at the shock as your hands clutch onto the muscular arms on your stomach for stability, much to your annoyance he doesn't stay holding you for more than a second before he's in front of you looking you up and down.

"You okay? Did you sprain your ankle?" he asks questions, your brain not really taking them in as you focus on how stupid you feel at being a clumsy over thoughts of a boy. You realise he's wanting an answer so shake your head hoping that satisfies him. "What's going on in that head of yours? Must be important to distract you like this." A wicked grin pulls his mouth apart as he teases you, knowing exactly what had been on your mind. Your cheeks flush a brighton crimson with embarrassment as you walk past him. This time your mind is focused, not fancying a repeat of events, even if you did crave being in his arms. Paul remains on guard the entire time you trudge through the forest not wanting to see you get hurt. He walks less than a meter behind, eyes taking in your every move as he studies your confident footfalls, you're obviously no longer distracted. He smiles at the thought of being the one on your mind and comforted that it's no longer one sided.

Eventually you both emerge from the trees into the familiar clearing occupied by the Cabin. Warm light glows from the open door and windows making you realise the sunlight was fading. You stop in your tracks to look at Paul as he comes to your side looking at the cabin, a pang of guilt twisting in your chest as you remember everyone ate without him. He senses you staring up at him and can't help but return the look as you toy with taking his hand. You can't deny the thought had been there for a while but you're interrupted before you carry out the act.

"Hey brother!" Jared comes down the steps and meets Paul halfway, embracing him with a one handed hug. It amazes you, like nothing happened earlier today. You know Paul explained, but there appears to be no bad feelings anywhere and it confuses you the most. It was human to hold grudges and bad feelings, even if friends with the indifferent one. Everyone else files out of the cabin, excitement in the air.

"You two have fun?" One of the boys you've yet to get an introduction to teases, winking at Paul.

"Gone for a long time!" Another input, before they all run off into the trees before you could correct them. Your cheeks might as well remain constantly on fire at this rate. The one you understood to be Sam exchanges a nod with Paul as they share something unspoken and disappears after the rest leaving the two of you alone again. You're relieved but it's short lived when you think Emily is probably waiting in the kitchen for you both, would she also make assumptions?
