Larry's POV:
I was shocked at how angry Laurent's father is about us being mates to. Sure I already knew some packs did not always agree with some of the Moon Goddesses mate pairs, and forced those to reject their True mates.
But never have I ever witnessed it first hand, and to say my heart is beginning to break at the possibility of Laurent being forced to reject me hurts worse than I ever thought possible.
I silently began to cry as I watched both Laurent and his father continued to growl at each other.
Laurent's mother stayed in the corner of the large office quietly crying as she watched not only her husband but also her son trying to overpower the other one. To my surprise she cannot even calm her own mate down. Which is extremely weird because a True mate can always calm their mate down.
'Are they even True mates'? Blaze asked me curiously. 'I don't know, we will have to ask Laurent if we ever get the chance'. I answered him back.
Their lack of interactions with each other did bring up a few good questions, one's I am hoping Laurent can answer.
The loud thunderous growl brought me out of my thoughts. I stared shocked at the surprised faces of those in the office, wondering why they were all staring back at me. I felt Laurent caressing my arm and whispered soothing words in my ear.
At first I couldn't understand what was going on, until I heard Blaze whisper sorry in my head.
'Why are you sorry'? I asked him.
'I didn't mean to growl'. He said shocking me that, that growl came from him.
'Don't be mad'. He whispered.
'I'm not mad at you'. I told him honestly. I'm shocked not angry. I knew he was getting upset at Laurent's father's words and treatment towards our mate and us, so it was understandable.
"Baby, you okay"? Laurent whispered asked me.
'I'm fine'. I told him, which I was, especially since all the growling has stopped.
It felt like an eternity (even though I'm sure it was just a few minutes) before anybody spoke, but I wish they hadn't.
'As I was saying you WILL reject this boy as your mate'. Laurent's father growled out at him. Causing Laurent to growl once more before saying something only a handful of Alpha's had done in the past.
"If you want me to reject my mate I WILL renounce my title." Laurent gritted out before pulling me out of the office and dragging me out the packhouse to the garage.
He pushed me into a car and we abruptly left the pack grounds. Laurent drove angrily down the road for about forty five minutes or so. Suddenly stopping in front an extremely large house.
I was shocked at the size of the house and wanted to ask Laurent about it but figured right now probably wasn't a good idea. I could feel his anger rolling off him and to be honest it was a little suffocating.
It's not uncommon for pack members to have their own housing outside the packhouse, but not a soon-to-be Alpha. Again I wanted to ask Laurent what was going on but chose not to. I felt sparks run up my arm and realized Laurent wrapped his arms around me as we walked towards the door inside the garage.
I stared blankly at him as he unlocked the door and we walked inside. Laurent held my hand as we walked in through the kitchen to the living room. My mouth was hanging open as I stared at the beautiful black marble counters and matching floors.
I wasn't able to get a good view of the kitchen and living room because Laurent began dragging me up the stairs to a very large extremely white room except for the stainless black headboard, bed frame and black comforter.
I stood frozen at the wonderment of the room. As Laurent walked us towards an all black marble bathroom. 'He must really likes black doesn't he'? Blaze asked, commented with amusement.
'I would say so'. I answered quietly laughing (even though Blaze wasn't really expecting an answer)
Without even noticing I was being pulled down on an extremely large comfortable bed and strong arms wrapping around my waist. Laurent pressed me closer to him, smelling his intoxicating scent and feeling the familiar sparks. I slowly fell into a deep sleep.
