Change in the Air pt.2

Laurent's POV:

I spent most of the day taking care of my pup's while Larry slept.

It took almost four hours for both Jackson and I to explain to Miguel what has been happening at the packhouse and also what had happened to me when I was called back to the packhouse.

He seemed very upset for what had been happening and what had happened.

'Alpha Laurent, if you know all this, then why did you bring that she-wolf back to the packhouse'? He asked after I had explained everything, well almost everything.

I sighed and stared at him before explaining the part I left out. I actually do not know why I left the part about the she-wolf out. Maybe it was because I wanted to tell Larry first or maybe I still feel guilty for hurting my mate and pup's.

I cleared my throat and decided to finish explaining everything that way he knows why Larry is so upset with me.

"When I first met that she-wolf, um well I was drawn to her". I said earning me a gasp from him. I held up my hand and shook my head to finish talking before he starts questioning me. I already knew what he had asked Jackson, so I knew as soon as I said I was drawn to that she-wolf he would suspect me if cheating on his Luna.

"Let me finish before you ask me any questions okay". I told him. I watched as he sighed heavily and nodded his head.

"As I was saying I was drawn to that she-wolf". "But not as a lover or anything like that". "I had an urge to protect her, like I do when it comes to my mother and grandparents". I told him taking a deep breath and continued. "Unfortunately when I tried to explain it to Larry, he was not exactly happy with me". "It was because instead of explaining it to him, I just practically blurted it out that I felt the need to protect her". I explained sighing.

'Is that the reason you and Luna stopped being together'? He asked me. I shook my head no.

"No". "Larry is stubborn, but extremely territorial like all wolves are with their mate's". "The problem is after what Larry had gone through when he was a pup he has some trust issues". "And the way I just told Larry I have a need to protect her, instead of explaining it completely, he was and most likely still is pi$$ed off at me". I told him.

'Miguel you have to understand, before Larry had his first set of triplets he was wolfnapped by Laurent's very own father'. 'And when Samuel called the council to step in and tri those who wolfnapped Larry including Laurent's father, they refused'. 'Also there was this she-wolf that tried to do everything she could to get Laurent to reject Larry with her father's help, who also helped wolfnap Larry'. 'Because of all this Larry has a hard time trusting other supernatural creatures'. Jackson explained.  Miguel looked as though he had seen a ghost once Jackson finished explaining a little about Larry.

"Because of all this Miguel, that is why Larry was and most likely still pi$$ed at me". "I had hurt Larry once before". "Even though it was unintentional I still hurt him and he actually took our pup's and left the packhouse". "It took awhile for me to find him, and once I did I viewed never to hurt him again". "Unfortunately I had done just that". "I plan on explaining everything to him as soon as he wakes up".

'Explain what'? I heard Larry grit out. I swallowed hard knowing by the tone in his voice it is going to be difficult for him to understand that what I did was necessary for our safety.

'Come on Miguel why don't we make sure the pup's can't hear what is about to happen between their parents'. I heard Jackson say.

'Larry try and hear him out before killing him'. Jackson said walking towards my pup's room.

'What do you have to explain Laurent'? 'How you chose a wolf over your mate and pup's'? 'Or how no matter how angry I was at you, you refused to come see our pup's'? Larry growled out shaking the house.

'Mate Is Pi$$ed'. Beast said smugly.

"Larry please". I begged trying to grab his hand, (I hadn't touch my mate in weeks and Beast, Alaric and I are starting to lose our minds) but Larry pulled it away quickly making Beast whimper. I sighed and stepped back from him.

"Larry I know how I handled things might seem as though I had given you and our pup's up, but that is not how it is at all". "Everything I did was to protect our pup's identity and even yours". I explained. I didn't wait for him to say anything I continued. "The day of our last fight, Jackson had shifted into Rain (Larry gasped, but said nothing) to help find out what was truly going on". "It didn't take long for them to figure out something was just not quite right with me". "I shifted into Alaric and while he pretended to be me, he was able to find out about the she-wolf's real reason for being here". "After we got all the information we needed from her Beast shifted and ended her life". I heaved a heavy sigh and stared at my mate.

'Wow what a story'. Larry said staring at me kinda dumbfoundedly.

"If you do not believe me both Beast and Alaric have images that can prove I am telling you the truth". "I will admit I did feel the need to protect that she-wolf, after Alpha Diondre had seen her and claimed her as his mate". "But the need was the same as it is for my mother and grandparents". "Not the same way I need to protect you and our pup's". I explained.

"I should have explained everything at the beginning instead of letting everything get this far". I told him.

'Laurent, when they were syphoning off of you, did you give up our pup's true identity'? He asked so softly I almost couldn't hear him. I shook my head but figured I should tell him verbally.

"No Larry". "I'm not sure if it's because the ones that were syphoning me only syphoned my human side while holding Beast's essence, or if it was because of my other entities that helped locked up that part of us away where no one could get to it, or because Meridia was the one they used as a conduit to trap me, and she somehow locked that part up". "I truly have no idea, all's I know is that I am glad however it happened they weren't able to get that information". I explained.

'Are you sure Laurent'? Larry asked panicky.

"Yes Larry, that she-wolf was irritate that after all their planning they couldn't find out whether our pup's truly came from human surrogates, if they came from you or if they came from me". "She even asked Alaric if I was the father because Alpha pup's could be trained to rule it if they were useless humans,and as much as Alaric wanted to end her life for the way she talked about our pup's he just played along until we got what we needed from her and once we did Beast couldn't hold his self back any long". I explained.

'Something is coming'. I heard Larry say right before the intruder alarms rang loudly throughout the house.

"Larry link Jackson and tell him to take our pup's and Miguel to the special room". I told him through our link.

'Yes my love'. Larry said making me smile it has been way too long for me to hear those simple words.

'He is already there Laurent'. Larry linked me.

'So this is where you useless human runs off to every time you have a fight with your mate'. I heard a voice I have heard before say. Where have I heard that voice from? I asked myself.

'Not at all'. Larry said calmly.

'Well look at that even in the midst of war he is still so sassy'. I heard the voice say.

'What are you doing in my house'? I heard Larry say, his essence began to change and he began to glow red and fiery.

'Well, well, well would you look at that'. 'It looks like Phoenix wants to play too'. A new  voice said smugly. As soon as those words were said I watched as Larry's essence suddenly changed to a dark aura.

'Who, who are you'? I heard another voice ask, voice trembling.

'You will soon find out'. Larry, not Larry said.

Suddenly everything became eerily quiet. The only thing I heard was my heart beating in my ears.

'Laurent, everything is okay'. I finally heard Larry say.
