Can't win for Losing pt. 1

Laurent's POV:

After we all ate including my pup's my family wanted to continue catching up with Savannah and get to know Alpha Diondre more.

Larry took our pup's up to our room to play and read to them before giving them their baths and putting them to bed.

I knew something was wrong with Larry, especially after he insisted that everyone came to the conclusion that our pup's were born via surrogate instead of him giving birth.

Yes I know under normal circumstances that male wolf's cannot carry and birth pup's, but Larry is not normal (believe me I mean that in a good way) and gave birth twice. I couldn't understand why Larry would hide that fact, that was until Beast reminded me of the Moon Goddesses warning. After Beast reminded me I felt guilty for not remembering the warning and almost exposed my mate and pup's.

Larry is right to hide the true identity of our pup's.

I waited till my grandparents and mother finished visiting with Savi and Diondre to take them to proper room for them to sleep in. The night I returned home I was so worried about Larry I told my Beta to take them to a spare room on the first floor.

Unfortunately the only room available was once use for storage was there were still some boxes left inside the room. Plus the room only has a child size twin bed to sleep on which is not big enough for any Alpha, let alone an Alpha and his mate. Yet neither one complained about the cramped sleeping arrangements.

'Laurent, what are you doing'? Larry asked through our link.

"Taking Savi", Larry growled through our link cutting me off. "I mean I taking Alpha Diondre and his mate Savannah to a proper room for rest". I told him. I can hear both Alaric and Beast laughing in my head.

'You just like pi$$ing off mate don't you '? Beast asked through his laughter.

"Beast come on I'm not trying to pi$$ him off". "Since I came back, Larry has just been difficult". I told him.

'Right it's mate's fault'. He gritted out blocking from being able to respond to him.

"F**King wolf". I gritted out not realizing I said it out loud until I was asked if everything was okay. I nodded my head not answering her.

'Well since your precious "Savi" needs a room she can have mine'. Larry gritted out angrily, but I could hear the hurt in his voice.

"Come on Larry, it's not like that". I told him.

'Not like what Laurent'? 'First my husband blocks our link's. 'Then laughs at me'. 'Then if that's not enough has the nerve to tell me he feels the need to protect some she-wolf he's never met'. 'But to top that all, he stays behind to help entertain his precious 'Savi', while his mate is taking care of their pup's'. He gritted out.

"Larry". I called through our link trying to explain to him that all this is just a misunderstanding, but just like Beast he blocked me as well.

"Sh*t". I yelled, startling both Alpha Diondre and Savannah.

'Are you sure you are okay, Alpha Laurent'? Diondre asked me. I just nodded my head yes.

'Until you start treating mate better, I will not be talking to you'. Beast gritted out.

"Really Beast, really"? "Don't act like you didn't laugh right along with me". I asked, told him.

'Yes but unlike you, I seen to understand why mate is truly upset'. He growled at me then blocked me again.

'I agree with Beast's. I heard Alaric say.

"What the hell did I even do"? I asked him a little aggressively.

'That's the problem'. 'You don't seem to see anything else right now except that she-wolf'. He practically yelled at me.

I sighed, finished walking Alpha Diondre and Savannah to the room I had the Omega's clean for them. After wishing them a good night I walked towards my office to get some sleep. A knock was heard at the door shortly after I closed it, and from the smell I knew it was both Queen Jackson and King Egon. I sighed opening the door welcoming them inside.

By the stern looks on their faces I can tell that have something to tell me.

"What can I do for you two tonight"? I asked them both, sitting down in my office chair. I think it's going to be a long night. I sighed in my head waiting for one or both to begin talking.

'Alpha Laurent, do you still love Larry'? Queen Jackson asked me, causing me to growl but I quickly stopped because of the look on Jackson's face.

"What would you ask that"? I asked him.

"I love Larry with all my heart". I answered him sternly, then continued.

"Larry is my mate".

"My Luna".

"My husband".

"My pup's father".

"Of course I love Larry".

"Why are you asking me this"? I asked a bit confused.

Yea I may have been a little busy and also distracted, but Larry is my whole world. Him and my pup's.

'Have you noticed Larry being distant or acting strange'? King Egon asked me. I thought about it and yea, Larry has been acting weird and distant. I just thought he was being upset with me. I haven't felt anything strange from our bond, so I figured it was fine.

"Yes actually I have noticed him acting extremely distant and weird, but honestly I just thought it was because he was upset with me". I told them what I was thinking. I watched both of them shake their heads disagreeing with my assumption.

'Laurent, when was the last time you felt the mate bond with Larry'? Jackson asked me. I had to think about it and realized I hadn't felt anything since Alaric blocked us from Larry or anyone else finding out about our surprise meeting from the dark witch.

"Well, um". "I think it has been maybe a few". I answered him confusedly.

'And you never thought that, that was strange'. King Egon asked me. I shook my head still confused. I could feel our bond, just no emotions within it. I'll admit it's strange and up until right now I didn't even notice it wasn't there.

'Go talk to Larry, before it's too late'. Queen Jackson said getting up off the couch, pulling King Egon with him.

"I will". I said, standing up and following them out of my office door. After closing and locking my office door I headed up to my bedroom to talk with Larry.

I cannot believe I have been so distracted I didn't even notice Larry and I's mate bond carried no emotions. I sighed feeling extremely guilty, no matter my mate is upset with me.

Once I got to my room, to my surprise it was unlocked. Not waiting for Larry to get a chance to kick me out I walked into the room closing and locking the door behind me.

My breath hitched and my heart rate increased. There on the bed is my six sleeping pup's and my mate.

Quietly as possible I carried my pup's to the nursery one by one as quickly as I could without waking them or Larry up. I stripped and crawled into bed next to my heart, pulling him as close to my chest as possible.

Sparks erupted throughout my body, white flashing lights lit up my mind like a fast playing movie reel. I watched the images past by quickly, unfortunately I wasn't able to see all the images but I was able to see a glimpse of was my heartbroken Luna, believing I had abandoned him.

Pain shot through me and pierced my heart.

"Larry no matter what this world or the next brings, you are mine forever". I shared through our bond hoping he would hear it.

Holding Larry closely I slowly fell asleep, while praying to the Moon Goddess for guidance.

"Help me, Goddess". "I cannot lose him, not again". "Please help me". I prayed, holding back tears.
