Heya everyone. I know I promised a romantic thriller but at present, I am suffering from writer's block. Can't think of anything. So I decided to publish this story. It was in my drafts and major editing was pending. I will release the chapters of this story as I edit the chapters one by one. I hope you will give my story the love and encouragement that you have always bestowed upon my other stories as well. You see, I wanted to write a mature love story. Something inspirational yet, larger than life. Please follow all the chapters because I intend to make it fast-paced. The story will be short and crisp:):) I am waiting for your response.

Please shower my book with maximum comments and likes. So that I know whether my readers are enjoying it or where I need to change. I love you all. You are my life!

"Era!"

The shout by Sawroopaji almost awakened Era from her slumber. Last night, she slept late. While everyone was busy snoring, she slowly tiptoed into the hallway, fished out her diary and tried writing a narrative on a housewife. Before she was married, she wanted to be a public speaker and a writer. And if her luck permitted, a stand-up comedian.

However, the timings and work schedules of her home never permitted her to write with peace. She dared to stay awake till late to think in peace but her next day would haunt her with fatigue and irritation due to the lack of sleep.

Swaroopaji was a sweet mother in law... until all her instructions were strictly followed without any question. In fact, everyone in her joint family was the same. Her unmarried teen sister in law Shivi, her dadisaa (grandma in law) and her father in law Avinashji too. Her husband wasn't bad but joined the bandwagon of her in-laws whenever he received any complaint against her. Most of the time he wasn't concerned about her wishes or dreams.

The era was okay with it as long as everything went on peacefully. The three years of her marriage were peaceful because she had no intention of raising any arguments. She never loved her husband but was content with him.

Era quickly started kneading the flour because she had to fill her husband's Tiffin before he left for the office. She had to do it quickly before her mother in law notice her.

In the evening, she yawned as she stepped inside her room. The dinner was over and she was free. Her husband Deep had messaged her that he had some meeting so he would return late.

Unlike the other wives, she grinned. Her husband coming late meant that now she had liberty to indulge in her guilty pleasure. That is, writing.

She fished out her blue diary and pen. Before she could write a word, she heard the doorbell. It was the postman who lazily handled her an envelope addressing her. It had the papers of the house of her uncle. The place where she spent her vacations in childhood. Since her affluent uncle had no child of his own and knew about her attachment towards the house, he decided that it belonged to her, since the death of his wife.

Since her uncle had shifted to another city, she was now free to visit it as much as she liked. She could redecorate the house too. She called her uncle and thanked him.

It was half-past eight and she was already feeling sleepy. However, if she slept early, her mother in law would call her lazy. So she decided to clean her husband's wardrobe.

Everything was fine until she discovered a folder stacked somewhere inside the folded piles of Deep's underwear.

She opened it and got the biggest shock of her life. It had divorce papers with Deep's signature already engraved into it. The data suggested that the green pieces of papers had been eagerly awaiting her signatures for the past week.

All the happiness and comfort that she had been basking on for the past hour drained immediately. She had to confront her husband. Else she won't be able to sleep tonight. Or many nights peacefully.

She felt like she was jerked from her slumber of the past 3 years. She had to be awake now.

I am sorry but this is the first chapter so it's kinda boring. I promise the next chapters will be hella interesting.
