Heya everyone! how are you all? I know you must be wondering what am I doing writing so many consecutive chapters on the new year's eve? Actually my mind is brimming with hell lot of ideas. Plus that's the ideal way to start the new year. Start it by doing something I love the most! that is, writing for you guys (plus my office has bestowed with a half day! Feeling blessed)

Era's POV

"So now volunteers will provide you with a paper and a pen. As you can see, the paper is attached with a pin. I want you all to attach that paper on your back with the help of that pin. You can ask others to do it for you." I said and Nisha and Mihir demonstrated the exact thing for their better understanding. Nisha used the pin to attach the paper on Mihir's back.

"I see that my friends have distributed the papers and pens. You all have 5 minutes to get the paper attached behind your back." I declared after some 15 minutes after Nisha, Mihir and the other volunteers distributed the papers. Meanwhile, Neel was standing quietly behind me. As supportive as a rock.

"Now I see almost all of you are done with the paper thing. Now lets play the game." I tried to shout like a cheerful host.

I received an equal amount of enthusiasm.

"Now I want all of you to approach a person one by one and write a good thing about him on his back. Please don't sign your name below your comment. Let your comment be anonymous. No one would take out the paper unless I ask him to. Everyone, please write in a small font so the paper can accommodate the maximum compliments. And its compulsory to write good things about that person. Any questions? please raise your hand!" I declared.

Slowly I was warming up to the hordes of people.

"Whats the purpose of this game? We never play games like this" asked a guy in the crowd.

"That you will know by the end of the game." I didn't want to preach about the usefulness of the game. Curiosity keeps people on the edge.

"You have 30 minutes to write a good thing about a person. I know everyone knows everyone in this place. In case you don't know much about that person, you can write about his/her personality, fashion sense etc." I said.

The game started in full swing and I noted the time using my watch. While everyone got busy, Neel attached a paper behind my back and took an extra pen and penned down a note for me. I too did the same with him. Nisha and Mihir joined us. We all had comments written over our pages.

"Now everyone, I want you all to remove the paper, fold it without reading the comments and read it alone, a few minutes before you go to the bed. And maybe anytime in your life whenever you are sad or down." My comment was met with a loud applause. I was sure that people were curious to read their comments. I was the happiest because I had finally conquered my stage fear.

I too folded my paper and kept it inside my purse.

The rest of the evening went in volunteering people and greeting everyone. I was showered with compliments. Soon the dinner was over and everyone had started leaving. The people in the council at least gave me a normal nod, acknowledging my presence whenever I had any eye contact with them. That was enough. At least for now.

After everyone left, we four and the volunteers sat for the dinner. We all congratulated each other for the successful event. The next day was a holiday since we were the event planners.

"Here's your dessert." said Mihir as he popped a dish on the table we four were sharing.

"The game was awesome. I cant wait to open my paper once I reach home." Mihir said.

"You did great, Era." said Nisha.

"It was all because of your support. Especially Neel. Thanks for making me face my fears." I couldn't be more grateful.

"Do not thank me, you did everything." said Neel as he grew awkward with the compliment. He always did.

"Now let me drop you home." said Mihir to Nisha as we all stood up.

"Yes. I will get everything wrapped up and then drop Era." said Neel.

"Its okay. You do not need to walk me home. I can go to myself. Besides, the town is safe." I assured him as Mihir and Nisha went away.

"Actually my cycle is parked outside your flat. Besides, a gentleman never keeps a lady alone." He chuckled as he looked into my shy eyes.

I felt guilty. Because I was almost flirting a friend even though I was married. My brain and heart waged a battle against each other. My heart wanted to spend each and every moment with him while my brain warned me against going to that path. Even though I was going to be divorced. Yet...

"Okay" was the only thing I was able to say.

After wrapping up everything, we both thoroughly checked the venue to see if any of the guests had left any of their belongings.

Once all the volunteers left, we started for home.

"What happened?" Neel asked. There was a silence between us as we walked through the series of lanes.

"Actually I have a habit of being a loner. I don't have many friends and do not like going out in public. Now that I did that, I crave for some isolation." I smiled with a guilt. Neel's face fell. I decided to explain myself.

"I mean, I am not saying that I hate people. I love being with people. I loved every minute of today's event. But now I wish to be alone. With a coffee mug and a book." I added.

Neel smiled. "Era, You have a holiday tomorrow, don't you?" He asked.

"Yes I do." I said.

"Mind waking late tomorrow?" He asked me with a strange gleam in his eyes.

"No I do not mind waking up late tomorrow.", I said.

"Do you trust me?" he smiled gently.

"ummmm yes." I replied, he was making me nervous.

Come, he said as he held my hand. I travelled with him in an unknown narrow gully. Already I had problems remembering the routes of the town. The night made it even tougher.

The cold had slowly started enveloping the town. The diamond like stars wore the blanket of the clouds. My brain alerted me about Neel's ideas. But my heart knew a thing or two about trust.
