Era's POV

"Yes?" said Satya uncle, oops I mean Satya sir as I knocked on the door of his glass cabin.

I was so nervous as Satya uncle looked like a powerful intellectual who ran the place like the boss.

No wonder Mihir was nervous.

"Enter" he said as we both entered his cabin.

"Sir, this is Era. I had told you about her," said Mihir. He had entered into a full discipline mode from his carefree persona.

"Hello sir, " I said formally.

"Hello, Era. Please be seated," he said and we both took our seats opposite to him.

Suddenly I felt my hand being gently pressed by a warm hand. It was Mihir.

Whenever I would feel nervous, I would fiddle with my dupatta. Or dress. Or ring. Or anything my nervous fingers would fine. Thankfully Mihir had noticed it. His support was unconditional and gave me the requisite strength.

"So, I talked to Karanveer sir." he began.

I had no idea whether I must be happy or not. Though I doubted I must go with the latter emotion. Major Karanveer sir wasn't exactly fond of me.

"He said that you have tremendous potential," said Satya uncle.

And that knocked the headlights out of me. I mean, how could that be possible? Did Karanveer sir really like me?

"Anyways, I still would insist on getting your resume. Or your sample writings," he said.

I removed the file from my floral purse and handed him my clippings.

Inside contained the samples of my writings. Since I was a CA student, I had written a few articles ranging from cryptocurrency, the latest tax policies and their implications to the current trends of fabrics in upcoming marriage season.

"I must say you possess a huge range. You are versatile. You can write on variety of subjects." he said. "And your grammar is strong too!"

Suddenly he turned towards the last page. There was a small attached binder that had the sample chapters of my recent fiction.

"What is that?" he asked.

"Well, that's the draft of my first novel. It's called "How I arranged my love marriage." I admitted.

He fell silent for a second.

"Give me a day. I need to figure out whether I want to place you in the journalism section or in the book publishing section. You are talented but being the leader here, it's my duty to place you in a right place so that you can grow your talents. But yes, if you want to work with me, you will have to give me your 100% dedication! I won't tolerate laziness, procrastination or poor time management!" He said.

"Sir, I assure you I will work to the best of my capabilities and will observe professionalism." I assured him.

We both came out and Mihir looked more relieved than me. He grabbed my folder and sat on the bench. And read my articles.

"You are raw. But seems like we have found a real talent. No wonder dad was easy on you." He grinned.

I was glad. I got a day leave. Now I could explore the city. Mihir gave me a goodbye as he went to work in his cubicle. I had a sunny day and a beautiful city to explore! Not to forget, meet Neel!

He would be the happiest to know the recent development!
