Era's POV
"Is it necessary for you to go?" said Deep as I packed my bags.
For the first time I felt like Deep cared for me.
"Who will cook my meals?" he asked.
And that changed my opinion.
"Hey, you can take it as an opportunity to stay with your Deepa." I offered sarcastically to which brightened his mood.
"Yeah. That's great. I can move into her place or ask her to come here." Deep got all excited.
My inlaws had decided to go on a one month pilgrimage tour around the country. Since me and Deep, were alone, I decided to shift temporarily to Cerulean city. I had convinced my friend Shipra to cover for me stating that I was staying with her. She was wise enough to not ask me where was I going. I had informed her of my troubled marriage. That was enough for her. She thought that I wanted a retreat and didn't require any explanation.
"Yes, darling we can spend so much time together!" Deep was delightfully explaining Deepa on phone.
Seeing me going out with my luggage, he signalled me to wait for him as he would drop me.
I knew that all his concerns were mere formalities. So I signalled showed him my thumb stating that it was okay.
I hurriedly sat in the booked cab and went to the Serena mansion.
The previous day Neel had visited the council office with me and requested their permit for my temporary stay for a month. He also got me permission to use my mobile phone. So that I could communicate with my family in case of emergencies.
Karanveer sir was very disappointed. While Aisha asked him to cooperate. He had thought that I was given too many liberties as a non-citizen.
That noon I shifted in an empty small one-bedroom/ hall flat. It was enough for me. Nisha paid the rent for me. I assured her to pay back the amount once I get my internship stipend even though she politely declined.
By the evening I had decorated the already furnished house according to my taste. I brought groceries (that could last for a week) using my savings after Neel helped me to convert the currencies.
"Who is this person in the currency?" I asked him.
"That's my great great grandfather. He is the founder of our land. People respect him because he selflessly created a city whereas he could have sold these sapphire mines for billions of rupees." he had said proudly as he helped me lift the bags till my flat.
"So? Shall I see you tomorrow? " he blushed a little. Okay, that was weird.
"Sure." I couldn't help smiling. He had been a huge guiding force throughout this journey.
"Cool. I will drop you at the publishing house." he smiled.
That was very convenient. That would help me to remember the location of the building. Besides, I already didn't know how to ride the bicycle.
