Era's POV

"Its cold isn't it?" I asked as we stepped outside the pub.

"It is but let's walk. We will get used to it. It's a lovely weather." Neel commented as he handed me a pot of hot chocolate that we shared while walking. I didn't know where we were heading but I just followed him.

"Walk by my side, Era. Not behind." he turned around, looked into my eyes and waited for me to join him. I wondered if there was any other meaning behind his phrase.

"So, just wanted to ask you something." I said as I rubbed my hands for some warmth.

"Ask." he smiled and looked ahead of the road.

"Ummmm did you, did you ever had any girlfriend?" I asked.

"Nope. I had always been fascinated by you." he smiled sincerely.

"Oh. I thought you and Aisha were close." I said. The kind of bond they shared always made me wonder if they had some history.

"We share a great bond, but it's not what you think." he grinned boyishly.

"Then what is it?" I couldn't contain my curiosity.

"Jealous are we?" he chuckled and held my hand so that I could keep my pace with him.

"So, how was your day?" he asked.

"It's great. I guess I have a feeling that it's going to be the most memorable day of my life." I almost blushed.

He held my hand a little bit firmly. We walked in comfortable silence. After a few minutes, I asked the same question.

"My day is going great till now. But I guess the most memorable day of my life is yet to come," he said as he took the sip of the hot chocolate from my cup, keeping the soft sweet eye contact while my heart did the somersaults and backflips.

"When you do think that day is going to come?" I asked him, wondering he was thinking what I was thinking?

"Depends." he said as he led me towards his house. How did I know it was his place of residence? Well because the board outside the door pronounced his full name.

"Welcome to my humble abode." He said as he unlocked the door to a seemingly isolated home.

"where is your family?" I asked.

"They live a few blocks away from me. Just wanted to live alone and experience how it feels to be on your own." He smiled guiltily "I was a pampered child in my family." He confessed as he revealed his organized two-bedroom flat.

It was past midnight and my stomach couldn't stop grumbling shamefully. I looked apologetic and he laughed. He showed me his balcony, adorned with a swing (big enough for two people to sit) and loads of potted plants. He instructed me to sit and excused himself for a few minutes. Time and again I was compelled to peep as I wondered the reason of his sudden disappearance. Usually I do not believe in staying alone with any male (be it a friend) but for some reason, I couldn't help myself but trust Neel. I felt warm, comfortable, safe even though his single look sent shivers of excitement into my spine.

"Here it is!" He brought white pasta those wafting aroma ensured that it was bound to be tasty. His sudden appearance woke me up from a slumber that was emitted by the gentle rocking swing.

"Wow! I love pasta! how did you know that?" I asked as I took a spoon from him while we shared the dish.

"I know everything about you." he said casually. I didn't know if I was supposed to be scared of his behavior. This man knew every little detail of my existence. I decided to utilize the time to know about him.

I told my intentions out and loud and he smiled.

"Okay, ask me anything you want." he said as he took away the dish to the kitchen and we washed the vessels.

"Tell me about your family." I smiled.

"Well," he grinned "You are my family." He smiled as he hugged me. It took me a few more deep breaths to not hyperventilate.

"Favorite color?" The rapid fire round had just begin

"Blue" came the quick reply.

"of course." I muttered under my breath.

"Favorite song?" I asked

"What's that?"

"Leave it. Favorite place to visit?"

"Your home." came the reply. Okay, that was smooth.

"Favorite hobby?"

"Teaching you how to ride a bicycle." he laughed

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, its funny when you are so clumsy."

"I am not clumsy."

"He he he you are. But I like taking challenges in my life."

"I am a quick learner I tell you" I defended myself.

"yeah I know." he dismissed me.

"Favorite book?" I asked

"I will tell you when I get my hands on it."

"what the hell, Neel. Favorite drink?"

"Blue lagoon."

"Favorite food?"

"Blue momos."

"You kidding me? how can momos be blue?"

"Why? if blue lagoon can be blue, then momos too can be blue."

"I know I know, you guys use artificial coloring on food."

"What do you mean by "you guys"? Soon you are going to be us."

"I don't think so"

"be confident, Era."

And our exchange went on throughout the night. Sometimes we talked sense and sometimes we talked nonsense.

"Why the hell does your balcony smell like blueberries?"

"Because I have planted blueberries."

I didn't know what more to expect from him and the night but hoped that it would be great.
