Era's POV

"Don't worry. The council isn't as tough as it looks." Said Satya sir as he read my final report. It was my last day of internship. Or maybe the last day of the town. It was rare of Satya sir to encourage me.

"Sir, it was my privilege to work under your guidance." I said, almost choking. Even though the job was very demanding and I had to slug for hours, I enjoyed every minute of it. It gave me a confidence that even if the Council would reject me, my upgraded skill would ensure that I could work flawlessly under any major publication house in the outside world.

"Mine too. I have never seen someone so talented and hardworking. You have a bright future, Cerulean city or outside." He said as he turned away to hide his emotions.

"shhhhh shhhh", we both saw Mihir trying to call me from outside the cabin.

"I don't want to make your friends wait. Best of luck for the future!" Satya sir almost laughed at Mihir's antics.

"Era, you have a huge responsibility on your shoulders today!" Said Mihir as he drove me to the Volunteer's office. As today was the day of the verdict, Neel decided that I must leave a solid impression in the mind of the townspeople. So he made me in charge of the carnival that was held for the first time in the history of the Cerulean city.

************************************************************************************************************

A week ago, Neel had first handed me over the baton of assuming the leadership, I was doubtful at first. But Mihir and Nisha made me accept the position. I had a team of Neel's volunteers as well as my internship team.

"So what's the plan?" Neel had asked me as we all sat in the pub during one lazy Sunday.

"I was thinking of holding a Carnival" I had said.

"What is Carnival?" someone asked me.

It took a lot of detailing to make them explain the concept of carnival. We all decided that the carnival must celebrate a theme. And I decided that it must celebrate the theme of "colors".

So we all decided to paint the doorbell of all the houses of the town with random colors (except blue of course. All of them had blue houses.) We also hung different colored bells in front of all the houses.

We also took the permission from the Council and marked the road for the Carnival using various signs. We blew balloons of different colors and I created a band to sing a list of songs using microphone. We had requested every townsperson to dress as colorful as possible. We prepared the carts celebrating Cerulean city. There were life size models of Cerulean beaches, Mount Cerulean, Publishing houses, Council Houses and so on. I had to go out of the portal to download the songs that were appropriate for the occasion. We had decided to equip the biggest cart with the sound system and my songs.

We also prepared for a flash mob. We, as in all the volunteers and my intern group. We were all excited and ready. However I felt the burden as the whole town would scrutinize me and the judgement would be conferred at the end of the day. Apart from holding a "good" internship record, I had failed to do anything significant in the professional front.

Finally the day had arrived and we all had a final meet at the Publishing house.

"I am ready for today!" Shouted Vikram as he held his camera like a machine gun, ready to get into the battleground.

"We all are ready'!" shouted my volunteer group as we raced towards the venue.

I crossed my fingers, hoping for the best.
