Heya everyone! I hope you are enjoying this! Trust me people, I have beautiful and positive surprises stored for you. Great things never come easily. For that one needs to be worthy of such things. And to be worthy, one needs to achieve greatness.

Neel's POV

"Okay, take a deep breath. Everything is going to be okay." Nisha tried to give me the words of encouragement as we stood outside the council building.

But I thought that Neel also needed to hear those words. Couldn't blame him. He was more freaked out than me. For some unknown reason, he too desperately wanted me to stay in the town.

"Your appointment is fixed with the Council. You may enter their conference room now." greeted the young receptionist. I saw her dark blue eyes and realized that her looks deceived her age.

We all entered the conference room. There were 12 people, wearing a polo shirt of the same blue colour shade.

"I request you both to wait outside. Neel, since you had brought her into our world, you may stay. We need to talk to you too." said the man sitting on the best row.

Nisha gently patted my back and Mihir whispered "Good Luck" as he exited the door.

"Firstly, we are very disappointed with you Neel. You brought a stranger into our world without taking any permission. You let out the secret that could endanger the existence of our world!" Said the Council member. His eyes had the darkest shade of blue so I knew he was the senior most member.

"But I swear I won't tell anyone about it." I interrupted and everyone looked at me with rage. Stupid stupid stupid One should never interrupt when a higher authority is speaking. Era, where are your manners?

"We do not doubt your trustworthiness ma'am. But it is dangerous to reveal about our world!" said the eldest member. His tone was firm and manner was straight forward. "By the way, I am major Karanveer. I was the part of Indian Army before retiring and then coming into this world!".

I decided not to utter a word and nodded my head as a gesture.

"I am sorry, sir." said Neel, with his head bent. His tone was sincere but his eyes wasn't.

"Sir, please give me a chance to prove myself." I almost pleaded to him and looked expectedly at the other members.

"Do you see this?" asked me a lady as she pointed towards a wall filled with the giant screens. All the screens showed the outer world.

"We keep watch on the world inside and outside. We checked your records. You lack confidence and have done nothing extraordinary." said a lady with a soft tone. Her eyes were light blue. I assumed that she belonged to my generation. Perhaps that's why her tone was sympathetic.

"Ma'am please give me a chance." I almost pleaded.

Everyone had a shade of disapproval on their faces. However the sympathetic lady urged others to give me a chance.

"Okay. Aisha wants us to give you a chance. We will test you. You will go through two stages. First, we all will conduct your interview. Second, we will take your written EQ and IQ test." said the Major.

I smiled. At least I have got a chance to prove myself. I looked at Neel and he too smiled.

"You will come here at sharp 9 am. We will conduct your test. If you pass, we will conduct a formal orientation and organize a welcome party. If you fail, we wont hesitate to delete your memory." Said one of the member.

"He was Al. One of the most difficult council member to impress." Neel informed as we went out of the building.

I asked him to let me out of the portal. Neel's face fell.

"Hey don't go so soon. We can spend more time together." he said. What the hell? I had a test next day and he wanted me to hang out?

"I have a test tomorrow. I am super worried. What if I fail?" I asked him.

"You won't. And even if you will, we will stay friends forever, even if they delete your memory." he smiled as he looked into my eyes.

"Okay, but let me be out fast. I have to reach home, finish the chores and start studying." I told him.

This time he was quick to drop me out of the storeroom. I booked the cab. On the way I realized that I had to hurry home, complete the house-related chores, meet the lawyer and study when Deep falls asleep. I had no idea what to study. I forgot to ask Neel about it. Damn, does he have a mobile phone? If yes, its useless because I don't have his number. I facepalmed myself.
