ERA's POV

"Hey, look at this?" said Neel as he scooted closer to me.

"ummm wait a second," I excused myself, grabbed the microphone to request the youngsters to vacate the rink for the citizens up to the age of 55. Thankfully, people here are disciplined. I could see next age group reclaiming the rink.

"so what were you saying, Neel?" I turned around to find him laughing with Aisha as she leaned closer to him.

And for some strange reason, I felt uneasy. As if someone had taken away a small but substantial part of my being. My melancholy replaced my smile. Nisha seemed to notice me staring blankly at him.

"Neel, Era is calling you" she signaled him and he came to me.

And again, I felt the same level of excitement that I had been feeling since the commencement of the event.

"You were going to show me something, right?" I asked.

"Yes, this." he said as he fished out a beautiful picture from his coat. It was taken from the top, showing beautiful green frozen oasis crowned by white Crest of Cerulean mountains. The green river was shaded with blurry, moving shades of red, violet and green. It was the most beautiful picture I had ever seen.

"Vikram took it from the top!" he said pointing towards the closest mountain.

"I thought so." I smiled into his eyes, and for a brief moment, I felt different. Different as in I feel wanted. Wanted not as a friend or sister or collogue. Wanted as a woman who wants to be wanted. Oh gosh! how can I make you understand?

"ummmm, I think I need to go and catch up with the remaining council members, you know. Just for reviews!" He said as he scratched his head with his first two fingers."

"yeah, yeah I know." I agreed wholeheartedly. It was getting strangely awkward.

"Yeah"

"yeah", I nodded and he smiled nervously and turned around.

I exhaled after taking a long breath. Gosh! what was that?

"He too likes you, you know!" said Nisha as she looked at me.

"What... what are you talking about?" I pretended to be negative about her comment though I was afraid that she might be right. Wait a minute, did she say "too"?

I looked around to check if anyone overheard us. Thankfully everyone was too engrossed with the event.

"I know what I saw" she said, crossing her arms.

"That's not true. We are just great friends." I said calmly.

"Again, I know what I see." She said and went away.

After she went away, I felt uneasy. I mean, I was elder than him by around 5 years. If you feel that love doesn't have any age, then I was married. If you feel that I am about to divorce my husband, then you might ask what's the problem? What's the problem? I am still not sure if the Council might induct me. mean, professionally I was still lacking. Though I believe that tonight's event's success might earn me some brownie points.
