While Annabelle stood on the other side of the room and stared down at Klaus with her arms crossed over her chest, Cami asked Elijah, "The dagger the witch gave me is inside of him?"
Elijah replied, "And every second it remains causes Niklaus untold suffering."
Then Cami turned to Elijah and asked him, "Who stabbed him?"
With his sleeves now pulled up, Elijah told her as he went to make his way over towards Klaus's side, "I did, and now I intend to remove it." After finally arriving at Klaus's side, Elijah said to Cami, "You might want to take a step back."
After walking away from Elijah and standing close enough to where Annabelle stood, Cami asked him, "Why am I here?"
Elijah replied, "Well, because of all the people that could be here, you're probably the only one he wouldn't immediately slaughter."
As she gestured towards Annabelle, Cami asked him, "And what about Annabelle? Shouldn't she be the one here and not me?"
Elijah told her, "Well, since Annabelle had refused to see things his way before the dagger was shoved deep into his chest by yours truly, I have no doubt in my mind that Niklaus would see to it that he either snap her neck or shove either the regular dagger into her chest or even this one. So if I'm going to be honest, I feel as if Annabelle would be a lot more safe if she was by my side until he has managed to calm himself down."
With furrowed eyebrows, Cami asked him, "But isn't Annabelle known as the unstable one?" When Annabelle only raised her eyebrows in response, Cami asked him, "I mean, if she is known as the unstable one, then she shouldn't have much trouble defending herself, right?"
With a nod of his head, Elijah said, "You are quite right, Camille, but unfortunately Niklaus would intend to take her by surprise and not allow her to see it coming until it was too late. So, I think you can now see why you're the best choice to be with him when he awakens." After cutting open the entirety of Klaus's chest, he turned to Cami and told her, "Also, he speaks of you with what is a rare degree— for him, at least— of respect. I can see you challenge him to see himself and others in a new light..."
After Elijah had finally pulled the dagger out of Klaus and watched as Klaus started to groan to himself, Elijah said to Cami, "A wonderful skill that I shall be counting on very shortly." As he went to put the blade down and started to wipe his hands free of the blood on his hand, he told her, "You see, Niklaus will be weak as he recovers. So watch over him and feed him if you would but slowly, please, and from your wrist."
Cami asked him, "Don't you guys have bags of blood in storage?"
Elijah replied, "We do, but your blood is laced with vervain. So it will burn him. He'll ingest it slower. Perhaps you could use the time constructively, persuade him not to murder his youngest sister." While Annabelle slowly made her way over towards where Elijah was standing with her eyes narrowed, Elijah went back to Klaus's side and said to him, "Niklaus... it was not my desire to bring you pain, but I will not see you hurt Rebekah. Now, I fear Sabine may be making a final move against us. I intend to find her and to end this."
