As we passed the church to find somewhere to park, I saw a couple of people there. Dad drove around the church to the car park and parked. We got out. I got my guitar out of the boot and Dad locked the car as we walked back around to the church. As we entered the church gardens, I saw Nathan waiting there. I ran up to him and threw my arms around him. His body acted quite shocked but then relaxed and hugged me back.
'Hey,' he said quietly. I pulled away a little and did my best to smile, forcing the tears not to come.
'Hi. Thanks for coming,' I said. He smiled back at me.
'No problem,' he said. We hugged again.
'I missed you,' he said quietly. I smirked a little to myself.
'I missed you more,' I replied. His chest moved up and down, most likley from laughing.
'That's going to be a thing now isn't it?'
I nodded. Just then, Dad came over.
'Come on... We should go in now,' he said. I nodded. So as a three we walked in. The priest greeted us as we talked about the arrangements. The priest would do all the holy and religious things, Dad was doing a short speech and I was singing.
The priest told us the running order as a couple of people came in. I recognized a few. They were Dad's colleges and some of Nessy's older friends had come too. I walked to the front and got my guitar out of its case. I quickly tuned it, rested it against the alter and quickly ran back to Dad and Nathan. A couple members of the public had come too for their daily prayer.
The bell finally rang for beginning of mass and the priest started. As the coffin was brought in, my hand, obnoxiously slipped into Nathan's and I only realised when his own hand grasped my own firmly around mine. I looked over at him and he looked back. He smiled at me and squeezed my hand reassuringly. I bit my lip and concentrated on the mass.
