This Ain't The End - Part 20

 It was almost half five and we were starting to pack up. Well the others were. Nathan and I were still lazing around because we couldn't be bothered to help.

'We should help you know,' he said once we saw Max topple underneath the parasol that they'd brought. I smiled and nodded, laughing a little. But we stayed still.

'Hey.... What's...? Doesn't matter,' he said, looking behind me. He then carried on chatting about something but I wasn't listening. I was looking over to where he looked at and saw a small figure on a cliff ledge, the other side of the shark conservation that was on the beach. The Canaries, especially Lanzarote, was known to have great white sharks in the waters. Why they built such a thing next to a public beach was beyond my reasoning.

The figure looked very familiar. It was definitely a girl. A small girl. With the posture of-

I quickly looked over to where Nessy was playing. She wasn't there. I looked around the beach, wanting the hunch I had to be false, but she wasn't there. I managed to put 1 and 1 together then it hit me. I jumped up, grabbed some goggles out of my bag, just in case, and ran across the beach to the figure. The closer I got, the more my thoughts were concerned. It was her.

'NESSY!' I cried as I darted across the scene. The figure must have heard and I saw Nessy look over at me. Tears hit the back of my eyes even harder when I realised what she was going to do. I ran into the shark conservation, shaking off everyone and everything that was stopping me, including police and guards with guns.

'NO NESSY! DON'T!' I cried. I felt tears running down my cheeks. She made no acknowledgement of me. By the time I'd only just reached the cliff side where she was stood when it happened. She bent her knees and

Jumped.
