By the time the big 'Battle of the Bands' show happened, I realised that Lola was asleep, cuddled up in my arms. I smiled at her and stroked her hair gently. She was very pretty and I couldn't help myself from liking her. I knew that our age difference was a little strange but I couldn't help it. I couldn't help thinking of her in a romantic way. But it'd never happen. And it was probably just a small crush that I could bury away.

Just then I heard someone gently open and close the door in the other room. It was her Dad. He came to the big open space in her room, stopped and stared at us. I looked up at him, slightly worried but instead he just smiled at me and shrugged.

'Rules,' was all he said before going back into the other room. Shocked at how well he took it, I looked over at the clock. It was just past eleven. I knew that if I were to leave, it'd have to be now. So I gently began to nudge her awake.

'Lola?' I said quietly. I heard her moan a little. 'Lo?'

A short moment later she opened her eyes and looked up at me.

'Hmm?'

I sighed.

'I... I should be going now. We have this concert and interview thing tomorrow... Unless you want me to stay?' I explained then asked her. She nodded but I was a little confused as to what she was nodding at.

'Do you want me to stay? I'm more than happy to,' I asked her properly, making sure she felt comfortable in asking. Knowing from what happened before, I thought putting her in a less forward position would be kinder.

She nodded. By this time, the movie had finished and we were back at the menu. For a moment, my heart soared at the prospect of being able to stay with her. But I pulled it back down immediately, reminding myself of what'd happened and the more likely reason why. So I pushed myself up off of her, unwillingly and she followed suit. She closed the DVD player and passed it to me.

'Just put it there,' she said, indicating the bed side table. I did so as she pulled the covers out. When I came back to her, she lifted the cover to let me under it.

We lay still for a moment before she spoke up.

'You can really stay tonight? If you have something tomorrow, please don't let me keep you-,' she said but I cut across, shaking my head.

'Lo. Don't worry. I'll stay as long as you want me to,' I told her, turning over and facing her. Another grin appeared on her face which made my heart soar again. She shuffled a little closer to me.

'Thanks,' she whispered before drifting off to sleep. I then kissed her forehead before dropping off as well.
