                                              Mateo was awake early in the morning despite having the day off.  He couldn't help it.  He always woke up early.
                          Beside him lay his husband, Eric, fast asleep, dreaming about who knows what.
                          Mateo loved being there with him before he woke up.  He loved being with him in general, but he really liked just watching him while he slept.  He'd learned that Eric tended to wake up shortly after Mateo left their bed, so if he didn't have to leave, he'd stay there to let Eric sleep, and he'd watch him breathe.

                          Today, Eric was awake pretty quickly, opening his eyes and rubbing at them before sitting up.  He saw Mateo smiling at him and sleepily went in for a short kiss.
