Eric wasn't exactly happy to find out he was sick. He'd had a sore throat the day before, but he thought it was nothing. He would've been happy to believe it was nothing.
But it wasn't nothing. Turns out he was having more symptoms the next morning, which was definitely unpleasant. He was having trouble regulating his body temperature, always either too warm or too cold, and his sore throat got worse, and he had a headache too. He just felt yucky.
He remembered his boyfriend Mateo had been planning to stop by, so he had to let him know he was sick, and that he'd need to rain check.
However, that didn't turn him away. He ended up coming by anyway, but instead of the idea of going out, he wanted to make sure Eric was feeling better.
"Mateo? I thought I told you not to come." Eric looked up, bundled up in blankets on his couch.
Mateo had a couple bags from cloud 9 in his hand, "Well, yeah. You did. But I wanted to see you and make sure you're okay."
Eric kind of smiled, "But I'll get you sick. You know that right?"
Mateo shrugged, walking over and sitting next to him, "It's possible. But I'm okay with that. Wanna see what I brought?"

By the end of the night, Eric was still wrapped in his blanket, now falling asleep on Mateo's shoulder. He was pretty tired, especially after taking cold medication. He'd tried to protest, not wanting to spread anything to Mateo, but to no avail. Mateo insisted it was fine.
He ended up getting sick too, but by the next week, they were both out of it.
