Amy was holding her son's hands carefully helping him stand and stay balanced. He was on the carpet, so if he fell, he would be okay.
This wasn't the first time she was doing this. He was almost a year old, and with help he was able to stand, but she was trying to ease him into being able to stand without help, and eventually walk.
So there they were, and she slowly started loosening her grip on his hands so he could figure out how to balance on his own, until her hands weren't on his anymore.
He was wobbling on his feet a little bit, and for a short while he was able to stand, until he was wobbling too much and he fell.
Progress was still progress.
