“Of course he has to make such an entrance, why wouldn’t he.” Iris pined, watching as the flying throne and pedestal landed in the slot made for it. The dragonkin king stood, and walked past the bowing receiving party, towards the building ahead. “I see my daughter has learned well, she has managed to ditch both of her escorts a many of times.” The dragonkin king said with a hint of disappointment. “Father, I can take care of myself. I have proven that many of times as well.” Iris shot back. “Perhaps, it’s interesting to see how your friends have grown, both in maturity and elsewise. Perhaps they can take care of you better than your guards.” The dragonkin king said thoughtfully, looking out over the group below, preparing for welcoming ceremonies. “Tell me, Iris, I have not seen Rue in a while, are they well?” He asked. “Yes, Rue is well, father.” Iris replied. “Then where are they, I recognise most in that crowd down there, yet I do not see Rue among them.” He muttered. ”Perhaps you’ve been looking in the wrong places, they have told Iris that they wish not to be regarded as a deity while here, so perhaps they’re down below, head and ears down, trying to avoid contact.” An advisor noted, looking down at the crowd below. “Perhaps, Iris, I’d love to catch up with your friends, it’s been such a long time, can you summon them after the feast?” The dragonkin king said, looking at his daughter. “As you wish father.” Iris responded. Standing the dragonkin king tapped his goblet with his fork. “Before we start this feast, I’d like to applaud your valiant effort that pushed our enemies away from this land” He said. “Hear, hear.” “Also, it would appear as though this is not just a fight between humans, demihumans and monsters, it is a conflict amongst the gods and goddesses.” At this the crowd grew silent. “Never before have we considered this to be a possibility. But now that we know these facts, we can somewhat determine the source of this conflict. Ancient forces are spurring into action, which means our enemy is controlled by a powerful force. Considering this battle, the deity responsible for this is ancient, an agent of chaos capable of bending the deities below it to its will. Accordingly, we know of deities such as this, but it is best not to give them power by speaking their names. But on to less somber activities, let the feast begin.
