“You are far from your homes, assisted by humans and a raccoon human. Trella, please do your best to help that poor cat.” A brualic dwarven woman said. A tan elf walked out of the shadows, slinging Rue over her shoulder and walking out of the chamber. “Relax, Trella is a dark elf, not to be confused with her brethren that lives in the forests west of here. Dark elves have always been kindred of dwarves, mining, enchanting and smithing with the best of the dwarves. Your injured friend will be well taken care of. Now on to less savory subjects. Are you responsible for the trespassing on the forbidden grounds?” the dwarven woman continued. “The trespassers where those chasing our group, they could not have known how close to the forbidden grounds they were.” The raccoon human and the dwarf member of the council said at the same time. “I see, were they the idiots from the church of golden blessings?” The dwarven woman asked. Iris nodded. “Those fools will never learn, for months now they have tried to convert our peoples, knowing they can not win in open warfare against us. But we shall never go astray from the goddess of the earth, their efforts are in vain.” The dwarven woman continued. Suddenly a crash came from the direction of the stone gates of Dwarvein. “Madam, the creatures from the forbidden grounds are…” A severely wounded dwarf guard said, staggering into the chamber, falling down mid-sentence. Before he could be pulled from danger, several grotesque creatures burst into the chamber. Varying from vulture-like creatures to creatures resembling the creatures of the deep swamp, the creatures all were contorted in horrendous ways. Some had seemingly broken limbs or wings, others twisted into contorted shapes, and still others were in varying degrees of decay. Each creature held rusty swords, heads of their victims dangling from their belts. “You have no permission to enter Dwarvein, how do you enter a territory with no permissions?” The dwarven woman asked. “That would be an interesting theory, the peoples of the forbidden lands can not enter a territory without permission, that is. Perhaps you are unaware, but the ancient cities had many inhabitants, not all are bound, nor are all unable to bypass permissions.” A voice said from towards the center of the gruesome assortment. A handsome young man walked out from the group of creatures, a smile on his face. “Gilea, the dark unicorn.” The raccoon-human gasped. “Good to see my precedence has reached at least one of you. You know, I’ve always wondered what the homelands of the dwarves were like, even back in the days before the grand city fell. Glad to see I’m not disappointed.” Gilea said, pacing the floor in front of the creatures. “You lie badly, you’ve been a menace to dwarven kind since before the city fell.” The dwarf member of the council said. “Oh, youngling, it wasn’t just the dwarves.” Gilea replied.
