“So that confirms my intuition that they have two prisoners there, what else did you see?” Oathbreaker asked Rue, walking behind Krom to talk to them as they were hogtied and slung over his back. “Wow, I deserve nyis. Nyey’ve used the combined magic particles of nyeir prisoners to not only secure the area, but effectively using it to keep nyem nyere.” Rue said, swinging with Krom’s movements. “You look like the pendulum on a pendulum clock, I love it.” Oathbreaker said, laughing slightly. “Stop! Stop, stop stop!” Rue said in a hard whisper. “What this time?” Krom asked, annoyed that yet again Rue was asking to stop. “Can you all not sense it, nyere is a magic barrier in front of us, stepping into it with any being with the ability to weave spells will alert any guards or any traps nyey’ve implemented.” Rue said. “No, I don’t sense it, but..” Oathbreaker began. “See, nothing happened, yet another lie.” Einkapf said, stepping into the barrier. Just as they said that a battalion of armed guards stepped out from behind the trees. “Well folks, looks like my intuition was right yet again, that bumbling fool brought us some more monsters to slay.” A slight man said, stepping out behind the center tree. “And none other than the ones that have been causing us the most trouble.” He continued. “How could you? You let Rachel be captured, you led me to believe that you had no idea where she was.” Ron growled. “Yes, I did, but if you really think this is the first time you’ve been played, then here’s a thought for you, remember who suggested that trip way back then?” Dere snickered. “You had your part in that too?” Ron asked, his anger melting into sadness. “Of course, the church has been close to their goal for quite a while now. The first opposition was the Oaken council, they put up a good fight, but scattered when their leader passed. The cat-humans and elves were easy to conquer, they basically laid a red carpet out, which left that witch, that annoying fortress, the cyclops and of course, you lot.” Dere said, sneering. “You look close to hitting me, I’d advise against it, there a bakers dozen of elven archers in the foliage.” He continued. “Krom, launch me to the cages, can you do nyat?” Rue asked from behind him, putting their hand on his back. “You don’t even know where they are, therefore that plan is useless.” Dere snickered. Krom said nothing, just strong armed Rue in a random direction of the forest ahead. “Guess that means one more prisoner, oh well, guess it can’t be helped.” Dere said, smiling as he drew his sword. “As if simple knots could contain me.” Rue said, shrugging off the ropes that bound them. “He has a good arm, gotta remember not to get on his bad side, anyways, let’s find nyese cages, nyose idiots couldn’t have gotten far away from nyem.” Rue continued, placing their hand to the ground. To the west was a strong leyline, pulsing with magic energy, but to the east there was a singular line of magic stemming from a delta of two objects. “East it is.” Rue said, pulling the scythe from their back, allowing their tail to wrap around it. “Nyank goodness nyat nyese nyings are gifts from the death goddess.” Rue said, letting go of the scythe. “Damn tripwire traps, not the most accurate, but still annoying.” Rue said as they continued walking east.
