“You can’t keep this up you know, eventually your strength will fade and you and your friends will die.” The cloaked figure said, pacing around the bubble. “The necromancer is unfortunately correct, look at the bandages on Rue, they’re getting soaked with blood.” Parly said, walking forward only to be motioned away from Rue, who now knelt on the ground, grimacing. Visible cracks in the barrier started appearing, evidence of Rue’s growing exhaustion. “Rue, you can’t keep this up, we can face them and win.” Einkapf whispered into Rue’s ear. “No, nyou will be unable to win against such opponents, the necromancer has returned to his hiding hole, nyou have no chance against an enemy nyat regenerates each time it is killed. Nyough, I admit, nyis is not favorable circumstances, it is keeping nyou from being killed. Oathbreaker is feeding some of her energy to me, nyat is what caused her to collapse, nyat is why nyis barrier is up.” Rue replied, tipping their head down as they finished talking. Oathbreaker’s ears propped up, a look of shock on her face as she motioned for the group to get down. The dome of magic energy shattered with a loud crash, followed by the even louder sound of shockwaves caused by bolts of magic, cutting through everything and nothing at the same time. Further in the woods the necromancer could be heard screaming in pain, cutting quickly to the sounds of burning flesh. Dere looked down as his undead hands started to crumble, and in a rush of either stupidity or bravery, rushed towards Rue. Rue sank further to the ground, but a sharp crack of a magic bolt hitting Dere proved they weren’t dead. “So mu for stealf.” Claremont said, shakingly rising. “Those bandages need reapplied and more salve added, how Rue’s even still alive I’m not sure.” Einkapf said, feeling the side of Rue’s neck for a pulse. “Space has never been known to be weak, existing before time, encompassing all planes of existence, maybe that transfers to Rue’s resilience.” Parly stated. “My sibling was always changing when we were still divine, experiencing things much the same as humans, but still having the mindset of a deity. Tossing so many forms around all the time had to be taxing, but they managed to stay semi-sane, perhaps it is not the fact of the continuum that they control, but their self control.” Oathbreaker muttered. “Uhm, there’s a problem, Rue’s going to need a thorough examination by a surgeon, the bleeding is worse than before. We need to get the Oaken bar now.” Einkapf said, unraveling a section of bandages. “I can use a bit of magic to temporarily open a whole in space to get us there, but the effects of doing so would be taxing.” Oathbreaker said. “How taxing?” Iris asked. “Imagine overtaxing your magic capabilities about five times in a row. The exhaustion, bloody nose, all the effects of overtaxation, I’d imagine I’d still be unconscious when Rue is up. But I’ll do it.” Oathbreaker said. “I’ll need someone to get through the rift, so if one of you would kindly, you know.” Oathbreaker said, moving her hands in hypnotizing circles. The same shimmering blue splotch of air appeared, this time the inside of the Oaken bar could be seen from within.
