“Do try to make a good impression, after the last incident, the king of the dragon kin is not too fond of outsiders.” Parly said, sharing a conspiratorial glance with Iris. “I fail to see how I’d make a bad impression, but I’ll try.” Oathbreaker replied, walking at the back of the party now. “They’re back, open the gates.” A cry came from the ramparts of the city, seconds before the massive gates opened. “Iris, your father’s worried about you and your friends…” The first guard began, then caught the glance of Oathbreaker. “Halt, due to unfortunate circumstances, we can’t allow for anyone who is unapproved to enter, to enter.” The guard continued. “Then you can tell the king in these exact words, if he wishes to know what lies at the center of his enemies’ main city, but will not let word of it pass through these gates, then he can kiss my ass.” Oathbreaker replied, earning the shocked silence of all present. “Fine, I’ll send word to the king, requesting access due to that reason, but you will not be allowed to enter until it is approved, Iris it’s best for you and your friends to go and rest.” The guard motioned, a look of disgust and hatred on his face. “My group can go if they want, I’m staying here.” Iris said. “As will we.” The rest of the group said. “Very well, if you’ve made up your minds, you can wait here.” The guard said turning away and motioning for the gate to be closed. “Well that happened, Oathbreaker, you sure have backbone, using that kind of language when talking about the dragon kin king.” Parly said, astonishment in their voice. “If he wishes to bar access to information pertaining to his enemy, he doesn’t deserve kindness in return.” Oathbreaker stated simply. Iris just looked on with respect and maybe a little admiration, trying hard not to crack a grin.
