I walked slowly into the hall staring at my usual place. Harry looked up at me and shook his head slightly, I sighed to myself.

I looked just down the table, Cormac McClaggen. He was sitting by himself reading a book,  nobody was within two feet off him.

"Morning." I sat down, he looked up appalled at first then his expression changed.

"Just morning? Not good morning." He squinted his eyes.

"No darling, the world's much too morbid for a good time." I sighed looking over at Ron who sat glumly, stating at his plate.

"Right. Why are you here?" He asked me, closing his book.

"Because I enjoy your company." I let a small smile creep onto my face.

"Lovers feud, then. You can sit here if you shut up." He nodded.

"Deal." I shrugged.

My thoughts consumed my concentration throughout breakfast.

What was happening to Ron and I? What was happening to me? I should write to my mum. She hasn't written to me for about a week now, has she? I wonder if her and Malcolm have found a house yet? I hope it isn't too big. What if they have kids? I would be a horrible big sister. I wonder what I would be like as a little sister? Maybe I would be completely different if I had siblings. How many siblings is too many? Well Ron has... Ron.

My head shot over to where they were sitting, Hermione was looking me right in the eyes, frowning.

"Cormac?" She mouthed, confused. I shrugged, I stood up to go to Herbology.

"Wait for me." Cormac said, making me jump.

"Hmm?"

"We're both in Herbology... Are we not?" He slowly put his book in his bag.

Was I becoming friends with Cormac McClaggen? How on earth did that happen?

"What happened with you two then?" Cormac nudged me a bit as we walked.

"What's it to you? Will it help with your Granger mission?" I asked him, he laughed.

"No, I'm interested." He said, it didn't sound convincing.

"I think I'm going mad. Ron has no sympathy for the mad, can't blame him. I'm a bit of a shit girlfriend." I told him, but I don't know why I told him.

"Mad? Like loopy, mental, crazy type mad?" He asked, I nodded.

"Most crazy people don't know when they're going crazy." He said, I think it was supposed to be reassuring.

"D'you know many crazy people, Cormac?" I raised an eyebrow. He looked at me as we walked.

"I can't say I do."
