Kitten Adams was a very bright girl who always excelled in her classes, graduated early and went to medical school. Her two childhood best friends, thanks to their dads being friends, were rick grimes and Shane Walsh. Despite the boys being a couple of years older than her, they were always attached at the hip.
They had developed secret crushes on kitten through the years, not that she ever picked up on it. She, instead, was always too focused on her education and, when needed, had boy toys she could call. When kit left for college, she lost touch with them, much to their displeasure, but she was so overwhelmed with school she lost sight of how much general human interaction was necessary. A year later, she came to seek out the best friends she had missed dearly. Rick had married and had a little boy named carl, whom kit adored; Shane was still playing around. Both men had graduated from the police academy and were partners. After one of her many visits back home, kitten and Shane had begun to have a friends with benefits kind of relationship. Shane had already known not to try and push for something more as she was still focused on school, but that didn't stop them from treating the situation as anything less than a real relationship that eventually paid off when she made her move to make it official. When they told rick, he was furious with Shane but held his tongue. he was married, and their childhood promises no longer had hold, not to mention Lori always kept him on an extra tight chain whenever kitten was around.
When tragedy struck and rick fell into a coma, both Lori and Shane hid it from the woman for their own selfish reasons. Needless to say, carl was the one to spill the beans when she called to check up on her godson. Kit was so furious she had given Lori and Shane an earful before blocking their calls, needing some space, then filed to have rick transferred to her hospital so she could keep an eye on him. A week later, Rick never arrived, and the dead started to walk.
