when evening fell over the camp, Shane pulled up a crate across from kit since she was sandwiched between carl and rick, much to his displeasure. "I've been thinking about ricks plan. Now look, there are no guarantees either way. I'll be the first one to admit that. I've known this man a long time. I trust his instincts. I say the most important thing here is we need to stay together. So those of you that agree. We leave first thing in the morning. Okay?" Shane said, looking around for objections and then at kit, who gave him a small, supportive smile.

"those of you with c.bs, we're gonna be on channel 40. Let's keep the chatter down, okay? Now you have a problem, don't have a c.b. You can't get a signal or anything at all. You're going to hit your horn one time. that'll stop the caravan any questions?"

"we're uh; we're not going," Morales spoke up. No one said anything. Kit awkwardly shifted, hating the silence, Daryl being the only one who noticed. He chose to stand directly behind her, still trying to figure the woman out, hoping her mannerisms would give something away.

"We have family in Birmingham. we want to be with our people."

"you go on your own; you won't have anyone to watch your back."

"we'll take the chance. I gotta do what's best for my family." kit bit her lip. She definitely didn't agree, especially with two children.

"you sure?" rick asked again, clearly feeling the same

"we talked about it. we're sure," morales' wife cut in her voice firm.

"Alright yeah, alright." rick knelt, grabbing one of the guns. "Shane?" "yeah?" "375?" "yeah," they gave him the gun and a box of ammo. Daryl scoffed behind kit. She quietly turned, leaning closer to the man putting him on edge with her proximity to him, the smell of eucalyptus, mint and coconut filling his nose "there's more in my car that will be divided to those who stay." she said. Quietly before going back to her previous position—leaving Daryl to almost glare at the woman for leaving him even more confused.

"come on, let's move out! Kitty cat, hand over them keys. I'm driving beautiful," Shane said, walking up to her.

"come on, it's my car," she pouted.

"Yeah, but you have no restraint with the gas pedal, and besides-" he pulled her close, whispering the kind of naughty things a pastor would have to double cleanse you for, making the woman laugh. unaware of an annoyed rick was watching or a frustrated Daryl who was having a hard time even understanding his own feelings; all he knew was he didn't like it.

when they finally made it to the CDC, it wasn't without struggle. They lost Jim along the way, and the RV broke down, having them make some more rigged repairs. They filed out of their vehicles, gear in hand. Daryl was slightly surprised to see a quiver strapped to kits back. A compound bow in her hand along with an arm guard on her left and a drawback glove on her right. he didn't bother remarking, though, as it wasn't the time, nor did he want to receive those heated looks rick and Shane sent to each other whenever kit was involved. Bodies littered the road and surrounding area, but kit wasn't going to let that scare her. She had to stay focused. She pulled an arrow out, notching it but only pulling as they got closer, making sure she stayed close to Shane thanking her stars; she had hers and carls masks and Vicks in her car, the strong scent mostly blocking the decaying smell. Shane and rick banged on the doors " there's nobody here," t-dog spit at them. Carl latched onto the back of kits shirt, refusing to let go despite Lori's tugs.

Kit gave him a reassuring look letting him continue to hold onto her as he and Sophia sported their own Vicks and masks per kits demands.

"then why are these shutters down?"

"walkers!" Daryl whispers shouts, quick to kill it

"you lead us into a graveyard!"

"He made a call," Shane defended

"it was the wrong damn call!" Daryl shouted back

"shut up. you hear me shut up, shut up!" Shane spits, shoving Daryl away before storming back at rick "rick, this is a dead end."

"where are we gonna go?" carol whines as kit releases an arrow into another walker.

"do you hear me? no blame."

"she's right. we can't be here, this close to the city after dark." Lori panics

"fort Benning rick-still an option." Shane tries to negotiate, peeking at his girl, who has her back to them, and carl holding onto her for dear life.

"on what? No food, no fuel. that's 100 miles," Andrea adds to the panicking

"125-" kit releases another arrow"- I checked the map," Glenn tries to calmly say

"forget fort Benning. we need answers tonight now!" Lori screeches

"shut the fuck up, Lori you are painting a larger target," kits hisses as she downs another walker

"we'll think of something," rick stresses, but everyone is losing it at this point. More and more are starting to stagger over in the distance

"the camera it moved," rick says

"you imagined it."

"it moved "rick, it is dead, man; it's an automated device. Its gears, okay? They're just winding down. come on!" Shane continues to beg rick to leave. Kit soon joined, standing on Rick's other side nothing was working. He kept begging and pleading with the camera until the door popped open and they were all briefly blinded.
