~time skip two months~

Rick layed in bed, twisting his new gold wedding band around his finger, the morning sun shining thru the windows. He looked around the room at all the pictures kit, and the boys took of their family with the camera Deanna had in her office; there was more downstairs on the mantle, but kit had her favorites in here. She even had her picture of Shane displayed, and in the bathroom, rick and Daryl had taken a new risque picture of kit to display there. Rick claimed it was cause it was unfair. Daryl had one tucked away in his vest the entire time, so he needed one. He looked down to the hand resting on his chest, the teardrop-shaped diamond and emerald dancing in the light from its place on the ring finger; rick smiled to himself.

"it's too early to be happy," kit groaned, rolling to her back and rubbing her eyes that the morning sun was bugging, Daryl's arm automatically shifting around her.

"you just hate mornings," Rick chuckled.

"somethings never change" kit squinted her still tired eyes at him "so?"

"just never thought I'd wear a wedding ring again or be married to you."

kit scoffed, "if it's such a problem, I could only be a Dixon; I hear it's ten times better anyway" the bed started to shake with Daryl as he silently laughed.

"I didn't mean it like that grouchy pants," Rick chuckled, rolling to his side to face them.

"jokes on you. I'm not wearing pants."

"so much attitude," rick tsked, he and Daryl sharing a look before they tickled her sides, her laughter filling the room.

"give it up," Daryl laughed

"fine, I'm sorry," kit screeched, laughing

"much better," rick hummed as he and Daryl peppered their wife with kisses.

"we're all very much awake!" Jody yelled from the hallway so they could hear him since their door was closed; all three grownups laughed.

Rick and Daryl got up and ready as they were making a run today, the first one without kit since the walker breach. Kit slipped on a robe going to Judith's room to get her dressed before bringing her back to their room; Daryl gave her some cups to play with. "make sure you try and find some toothpaste before Michonne comes steals mine. I swear that woman has an addiction," kit yelled to them from the closed bathroom. Thuds of a ball hitting a wall repeatedly echoed thru the house.

"you gonna put a lock on the door?" Daryl chuckled, slipping on his vest

"maybe. if Denise asks for anything, look for it too, please."

"course," rick said, tightening his belt.

"dad tell carl to stop bouncing the ball off our conjoining wall," Jody said, standing in the doorway.

"carl," rick called,

"what? Mom and Denise said it's PT," carl defended

"we can't hear you. come on out," Daryl called

carl walked to the doorway, and Jody moved further in the room "what?"

"mom and Denise said it's PT," Daryl and Rick said simultaneously as carl,

"you heard me." Carl shook his head

"yeah, pick a different wall, and you need to change your bandage before you run off with Enid, so either wait for your mom or go see Denise."

"I'll go see Denise; Enid was gonna meet me there anyway." both men tried not to laugh, hearing kit grumbling to herself in the bathroom as carl waved bye to them "bye, mom!" "bye!" she shouted back, opening the bathroom door now fully dressed.

"you ever gonna stop hating that girl," rick asked, raising an eyebrow

"when she treats carl better and stops acting like the world owes her, then yeah," she waved her hand, brushing away the topic "you two better be safe out there," she said, eyeing them both

"We got it, mama," rick said, kissing her

"you really do worry too much" Daryl kissed her neck, squeezing Jody's shoulder as they passed; kit

kit threw her hands in the air. "I love you!"

"We love you!" they shouted back.

Jody chuckled "we taking Judy to the field with us today?" he asked, sitting on the bed as kit put on her boots.

"sure, why not, kiddo."

~ time skip~

it was nighttime when rick and Daryl walked into their room; kit was sitting on the bed rubbing lotion into her skin; they had found several tubes of the stuff she had always used a couple of weeks ago. Kit never thought she could miss a scent so much. Neither did Rick and Daryl that first night burying their noses in the crevasse of her neck, but they refused to tell her.

"you two look like you've been thru the ringer."

"feels like it. found a truck full of supplies then lost it into a lake cause of some guy wearing a trench coat."

"he dead?"

"in the cell, merles guarding."

"Still think we shoulda put em' up a tree," Daryl grumbled,

"but there's two of you?" kit furrowed her eyebrows looking between them, confused about how they lost one truck because of one man.

"pulled out some ninja moves or some shit. an asshole called himself Jesus." Daryl grunted

"his real names Paul Rovia" rick added.

"so you got your asses handed to you by a man wearing a trench coat named Jesus?" kit bit her lip, neither man answered her. Daryl glared at the playfulness dancing in his wife's eyes as she looked between them. "that's one way to have a come'n to Jesus talk," she busted out laughing.

"oh, you got jokes," rick scoffed at their wife, who was miserably failing at muffling her laughter.

"Stop," Daryl grunted, lunging at her.

When Paul Rovia, aka Jesus, went searching for the two men who took him, prisoner, he didn't expect to find them in bed with a woman between them, all completely naked. He hesitated before whispering, "Daryl. Rick." neither budged "wake up," he said at an average voice level. Both men jumped out of bed, grabbing a gun off their nightstands; kit jumped up, standing on the bed, holding hers off the shelf above the bed. All aiming at the man standing at the end of the bed, "we should talk," he said with a sly smile.
