Everyone was sitting/ standing around the table as rick explained what had happened in town.

"look, we couldn't just leave him. he would've bled out. if he lived that long," rick explained,

"it's gotten bad in town," Glenn added.

"If he's so dangerous, what do we do with him, rick?" kit sassed, still annoyed as Hershel walked into the room. "I repaired his calf muscle as best I can, but he'll probably have nerve damage-" kit scoffed softly, Shane's hand pulling her close, rubbing circles with his fingertips "- won't be on his feet for at least a week."

"when he is, we give him a canteen, take him out to the main road, send him on his way."

"isn't that the same as leaving him for the walkers?"

"what if he brings others?" kit asked, peaking at Daryl as he walked in, really liking that vest.

"Just gonna let him go? Kits right he knows where we are," Shane agrees

"he was blindfolded the whole way here. he's not a threat."

"not a threat. how many of them were there? you killed three of them take another hostage but they just ain't gonna come looking?"

"they left him for dead. no one is looking"

"We should still have him guarded when he wakes. you say he's not a threat, but you wouldn't even let me do my job, rick," kit says, annoyed

"you know what? I'm gonna go get him some flowers and candy-" Shane scoffs "look at this, folks, we back in fantasy land," he says sarcastically, starting to leave.

"you know we haven't even dealt with what you did at my barn yet." Hershel said, making Shane face him, "let me make this perfectly clear; once and for all, this is my farm. Now I wanted you gone. Rick talked me out of it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. so do us both a favor- keep your mouth shut." Shane shook his head, leaving

"look, we're not gonna do anything about it today. Let's just cool off," Rick reasoned. Kit shook her head "this isn't gonna end well, rick," her eyes narrowing at Hershel " I was always raised to respect my elders, and I get this is your farm, but you need to get your act straight and stop blaming everyone else because someone helped reality slap you out of your delusions" she says before leaving out the door next to Daryl

that evening rick approaches kit as she's sharpening her knife again "kitten, we gotta talk," kit sighed

"I'm not changing my mind about Randall rick."

"no-no, I know. I just wanted to see how you and Shane were doing. Lori had mentioned he was getting hot-headed when I'm not around," Rick said, treading lightly on the subject. Kit chuckled " we're great, rick, and for the Lori part, I'm not sure I mean, he gets hot over some things, but it's for a good reason. I don't necessarily agree with how he handles things like the barn could have been better, but it needed to be done." right there, rick knew Lori was right. Shane had been treading carefully when kit was around. hiding things from her. "but he isn't like hurting you or threatening you?"

"what kind of question is that?" kit asked, confused

"nothin', I just worry about you, kitten. You mean a lot to me."

"Yeah, I know. You do too," she whispered "when I found out Lori and Shane hid your coma from me, I was so distraught and disappointed in myself that I hadn't even noticed. I couldn't even come to see you; I was so ashamed," her voice cracking. Rick pulled her to his chest, holding her to him tightly, comforting her and himself. Both unaware of a thoughtful pair of blue eyes watching or the couple almost black as night filled with rage. Rick knew the next day he would have to talk to Shane about the baby, threats to his wife, Otis, and kitten's safety.
