The following day kit rode on the back of Daryl's bike or rather merles bike, said man throwing a massive fuss over it and the fact he had to stay behind. Hershel and Rick pulled up next to them and parked, leaving kit behind with Hershel as rick and Daryl ran up ahead. Rick was sitting down with Philip the governor today, and frankly, it had them all on edge; the added eerie silence wasn't helping either. There wasn't even a groaning growl from a walker on the farm of sorts. Not even the woods were this quiet.
"he's already in there; sat down with rick," Daryl said, walking back over to them.
"your enemy being early isn't exactly a good sign." kit said. Daryl grunted in agreement.
"I don't see any cars," Hershel says to kit and Daryl as they are still looking around for possible threats.
"It don't feel right. Keep it running," Daryl says to him as kit sees a truck approaching "dar," she mutters, flicking the safety off her gun. he follows her line of sight before he indicates the same to Hershel. She can hear Hershel get out of the car behind them as they keep the truck in their sights. Three people got out, a maybe Hispanic who looked way too cocky for his good, Andrea, and a man with glasses, his shirt tucked in and his hair slicked to the side; he looked extremely out of place.
"why's your boy already in there?" Daryl asks Andrea as she and kit nod to each other in greeting
"he's here?"
"Yup," kit popped the P with a raised brow. It looks like the mighty governor is winging it. Andrea sighs before walking into the barn where the two men are sitting down. Kit rolls her eyes before digging the cherry sucker out she stuffed in her pocket from her med bag. Daryl raises a brow at her while he paces in front of her but says nothing, and kit goes back to watching the two weirdos leaning against the truck. one busy trying to out alpha Daryl in a staring contest and the other busy writing in his journal a very drastic notable difference. Kit was willing to wager the one with glasses has never even had to kill a walker seeing as he had no gun and no knife she could see unless he was just that good at hiding it, but she doubted it.
"maybe I should go inside." Hershel offers
"the governor thought it best if he and rick spoke privately," the man with glasses replies without looking at them.
"who the hell are you?" Daryl scoffs, squinting at the man. Kit couldn't fight the smile while she sucked, giving a brief sting in her cheeks at the combined motion.
"Milton Mamet"
"great. he brought his butler." Daryl snarked back; kit gave Daryl a crooked smile and raised a brow as he looked back at her briefly
"I'm his advisor" "what kind of advice?" Daryl asks,
"planning, baiting. Uh, you know I'm sorry. I don't feel like I need to explain myself to the henchmen." Milton says, annoyed,
"you better watch your mouth, sunshine." Daryl growls
"look, if you and I are gonna be out here pointing guns at each other all day, do me a favor and shut your mouth. unless that is your girl would like to show what her mouth can do." kit rolled her eyes at the man baiting Daryl who unfortunately was falling for it.
"We don't need this. if all goes south in there, we'll be at each other's throats soon enough." Hershel says, trying to calm the two men who are now inches apart.
"enough, dar," kit sighs, annoyed. He reluctantly walks back to her but does so backwards. Kit looked at Andrea as she walked out of the barn, frustration and embarrassment painted all over her. she walked away from them all to sit on the bench. It seems the talk is not going well. Daryl must have been thinking the same thing as they shared their worry when their eyes connected. This only seemed to make Daryl more anxious, going back to pacing. Kit might have been fidgety as well if she didn't have a sucker to distract her. Sugar was always the go-to trick she used on her patients but mainly kids when they had to see her. They made the body release a natural opioid, giving the feeling of comfort. Milton walked closer to the three, clearly unsure of himself, but given how Daryl was now glaring at him, she would guess that would make any normal person uncomfortable.
