"kit?" Lori called

"yeah?" "beth fainted" kit put down her arrows and grabbed her bag, heading into the house. When she entered, she was already in full swing doctor mode, starting with the basic vitals of the awake but unresponsive girl.

"what's wrong with her?" maggie asked about 40 minutes later. When kit finally stepped away, kit sighed.

" best guess without being able to run blood tests or scans is I believe she is experiencing a conversion disorder. The Short version, she will be unresponsive till she decides. I'm going to give her a sedative to hopefully restart her body and mind knocking her out of the unresponsive state. However, when she does wake up, she will have to be watched closely as it was emotional distress that was the cause; a severe form of depression usually follows for however long that may be. Sometimes it never does." maggie nodded, taking beth's hand.

"where's Hershel?" Lori asked; kit looked around just now, noticing the man was indeed absent.

"We can't find him anywhere," Glenn said, entering the room. Kit grabbed her bag, squeezing Maggie's shoulder before leaving. Once back out in the fresh air, she took a deep breath noticing Daryl not far away, his face blank, but his hand movements showed distress as he tried to distract himself. Sophia. kit didn't even think before she approached him and didn't give him time to respond before she hugged him; the man went rigged in and awkward in her arms

"you did your best. There is nothing you could have done differently. Don't blame yourself," she whispered before letting go and leaving; Daryl was quick to wipe his single tear away. Across the farm, dale and Lori watch kit as he has just confessed everything he has seen Shane do and what he suspects him of doing, neither knowing what to do.

an hour later, kit stepped out of her and Shane's tent looking around; a pissed Lori storming back from the field, a tent in the distance. "you good?" kit asked as she swallowed some of her pain meds

"no, rick and Glenn ran off to try and find Hershel. Beth is gonna need him when she wakes up, and maggie needs him. just- will you come with me?"

"Sure, I could use some new scenery. Cant drive, though. Once these meds kick in, they throw me for a loop the first hour," she said, heading to the passenger side and getting in. and sure enough, 30 minutes later, the silence and vibrations of the car put her to sleep. Lori's gasp and the tires screeching snapped her awake just in time to see a walker hitting the windshield and the car flipping as Lori drove off the road. The impact knocked both women out, kit only being held in her seat by the seatbelt, blood running down her face.

When kit came to, the pain was harsh; even with the pain meds, she groaned, opening her eyes, willing them to focus. She saw Lori still passed out and a walker slowly approaching them, carefully unbuckling herself and holding onto the window so she didn't fall on Lori. With her adrenaline now pumping, her pain felt numb; she used the side of her seat and the center console to stand her torso outside her window. When the walker got close enough to her, Lori woke up with a yelp as kit drove her knife through the walker's head, letting it fall. Kit continued to carefully climb out as Lori crawled out one of the other doors. Lori screamed as soon as kit yanked her knife back out of the corpse. Kit grunted, her head throbbing as she rounded the car, finding Lori and another walker struggling on the ground; she was quick to dispose of it. Both women panted, "ya know; when I said I wanted a change in scenery, this was not what I had in mind. how is it even at the end of the world you're still a shit driver" kit groaned, stretching as she looked for more threats. Lori laughed breathlessly in disbelief and relief. after Lori insisted she still had to go to town with or without kit, said woman reluctantly followed, knowing her best friend would kill her if she just left his stubborn pregnant wife.
