"we're really sorry..."
"I understand, thank you!" I responded. This was the second apartment, which was also purchased last night at short notice. That can't be. I mean, the apartments weren't even for sale..
Someone must be buying them all away for a pretty high price. Is that even legal? Probably... but still, why am I so unlucky?
And as for the work, it's grotty boring. Tom didn't have any papers for me today and emails hardly came in either. Just as I was about to get up to browse around the company, my door slams open and Harrison comes in. He swings his arms in the air and stops with his feet just in front of my desk.

"I'm done, I can't take it anymore. This job is killing me." Without question, he sat down in the chair in front of my desk, beginning to wiggle his leg, something Harrison and Tom always do when they are stressed.

"Well hello brother" I began, my eyes taking on a closer glint.
Harrison's arms intertwined, his anger made him look at the ground only in thought. "I don't know, but I have a feeling that something is pissing you off." I surmised sarcastically, intertwining my fingers and propping my elbows on the desk.
"Yes something pisses me off. In just a few days we all get to go to LA for a week, but I have to leave 3 days before you guys have to and that's all because something went wrong with the golf course in Seattle. Now I have to check up on this whole thing since it's my project!" Well that's fucked up. At least Seattle is nice too, but I can understand if you want to stay in Los Angeles where you already have the chance...
"Well, take jenna with you" I suggested. Jenna always manages to calm him down, so maybe she will be able to help him there too.
He sighed, running a hand through his rumpled hair.
"Yeah but what if-" The office door opened again and this time Tom entered. An open folder in his palms.
"Y/N there is-" His gaze met my eyes, but also caught Harrison sitting in front of me. He stopped talking and gave me a crooked smile. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were busy..." busy? I work so that you keep me busy, not so that I keep myself busy, but he seemed to have forgotten that as his mind floated off into another world. Since Cassie has come back into his life, Tom has been acting strangely as a boss. Like he's pregnant or something, he has mood swings. One day he's all shy and doesn't give me any work to do, which I find boring, and the next day he gives me so much work to do that I'm sitting in the office until 10 o'clock tearing my hair off. And that, that's not what I want either. I just want a normal boss!
I wanted to answer but as if there weren't enough interruptions, my mobile phone started to ring. And here we go flat number 3. Excited I picked up my phone, answering the call.
"Y/N Osterfield.." I answered hesitantly, closing my eyes in fear of a rejection. Please, please let me get the flat!
"Y/N Osterfield, If you want, you can move into the flat next week. You would only have to come and sign a few papers and everything would be settled." No way, I have the flat? Fireworks started exploding in my body and my face lit up like I had just won the lottery. The last flat. I got it.
"Wait really?" I questioned to make sure I hadn't misunderstood anything.
"Yeah." the male voice of a 50 year old man spoke up again at the other end. Oh my god. I've got the flat!
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!" I thanked him a ton while Tom and Harrison both just looked at me, puzzled as to who I was speaking to.
I talked to the landlord for another minute, he just gave me some information and then I hung up. I jumped out of my chair and the first thing I did was run around the table and jump into Tom's arms, since he was the easier one to hug. Harrison, who was still sitting comfortably in his chair, looked on in annoyance. He didn't like the way Tom's arms hugged me right back and his fingertips ran soothingly over my back. But I didn't notice that I was hugging Tom. Or the way we hugged. I was too happy that I got the flat to even notice that I was tangling my fingers in his hair. This soft hair...
"What is going on anyway Y/N?" Asked Harrison who now stood up and drilled holes in my back with his eyes.
"Shh man, who cares?" Tom interrupted him, not wanting the hug between us to end. I think I even felt him breathing in the scent of my hair, but at that point Harrison pulled me away from him until my attention was on my brother. Only my brother.
"Spill!" Harrison's eyebrow scrunched in concentration, trying to read from my facial expression what had just happened. His hands on my shoulders kept me in place, anything to keep my eyes from wandering behind my back to Tom again.
"Okay, so that was the landlord, and I did it! The flat is mine. I can move in next week!" I gave the two boys all my informations.
"What!"
"What!" they both shouted out at the same time. Harrison's 'what' was joyful, he was happy for me, you could see it in the bright smile on his lips. But Tom's 'what', well, I didn't see him, but it sounded angry. Somehow like it was unbelievable. But look now Tom! I will finally move on fully. You won't be able to play with me anymore. Not in a sexual way, of course... nevermind.
"You got the flat?!" Tom asked again, taking a step towards us. Harrison's hands had fallen off my shoulders by now. So my attention returned to Tom, because of his question. Duh!

"Yess!" I replied with a proud smile as I watched his happy expression fall from his face. He blinked his eyes once or twice before muttering something under his breath and stomping out of my office with angry footsteps.
What's wrong with him? Can't he be happy for me. Just for once?!

"He's weird, don't mind him. Just make sure you keep your distance from him." I know what Harrison was up to. It was mind games he wanted to play with me. Just a few weeks ago Tom was Harrison's best friend, doing everything he could to make Tom and I get along, and now he's doing everything he can to make me stay away from him. If not even hate him. But I didn't want to hate Tom. The only thing I wanted was distance, so he couldn't hurt me any more.
I nodded. Harrison couldn't quite put himself in my place to understand how I was feeling. He only wanted the best for himself, so that things would go back to the way they were before. "however. Jenna. I think I'll ask her to come with me." what?
"mhm?" I muttered. What was he talking about all of a sudden?
"To Los Angeles and Seattle. I think I'll ask Jenna to come with me." Yeah, right. Los angeles and seattle...

"Do that. But didn't Ronald say something about only people from the company can come?" I walked back around my desk, sat back down in my comfortable leather chair.
"Oh please, it's ronnay!!! If he could, he would invite all of los angeles. The guy is crazy!!!" Harrison replied with an excited look on his face. You could see how much my brother admired and accepted his boss. Weird. I wonder what he would say if Tom became his boss.
"Well, work calls. I'll see what I can do for the golf course in Seattle for now before we fly to Los Angeles." Again I nodded with a polite smile. With a wave of his hand he left my office.
