I pushed my way through the crowd and finally had some space when I arrived at the campfire. Around it, tree trunks, chairs and some beer crates for seating. At the other end, sitting on two of the folding chairs, Harrison and Jenna, his eyes immediately catching mine.

I couldn't concentrate on anything else except the discussion that was going on in my head about whether I should go to him or run in the other direction in the hope that he hadn't seen me after all. But the slight tap on the heel of my foot brought me back to reality.
"Dude!" A man yelled to my right. I looked down to see that I had accidentally knocked over his cup of beer. Damn it.

"I'm so sorry." I apologised, hoping it wouldn't be that big of a deal. But the flaring of his nostrils still made me a little apprehensive. After all, he was sitting but I knew that as soon as he stood he was twice as tall as me and at least twice as wide. Had muscles like a bodybuilder and not a single hair on his tattooed head.
"Watch where you're going!" He scolded, shaking his head. But that's when I felt a hand on my hip, pulling me back even the slightest bit.

"She apologised, take it or leave it!" Of course it was Tom. He stepped protectively in front of me, but I knew he was taking it more seriously than he should have and I immediately got a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.

"Tom it's okay." I tried but the guy was already on his feet.
"What'd you just say?"
"Take it or leave it!" He repeated, with matter-of-factness in his voice, before he continued. "She said she was sorry, what else do you want? It was an accident." The guy frowned, thick cheekbones definitely starting to stick out as much as he clenched his teeth. But Tom was no better, ready to take on someone two heads taller and at least twice as wide as he was.

"Seriously Tom- let's leave!" I tried to tug on his arm, to somehow free him from the situation, but he stood stubborn as a rock. Not once batting an eyelid.
"I don't think that's any of your business." The guy grumbled. "And when someone spills my drink, I expect something in return." It started to get out of control when the guy suddenly came closer and Tom was well on his way to get one in the face.

He clenched his hands into fists and lifted his chin with confidence as if he had a chance to win.
"You want something in reuturn?" Tom questioned, definitely having something in mind.
We began to attract attention. At first only the few standing next to us, but a short moment later, I felt eyes on me that felt all too familiar.

My brother was watching, definitely smiling in amusement as he watched Tom about to start a fight. That's when I couldn't stand it any longer.

I pulled Tom out of the crowd without hesitation. Mad at him for wanting to help me because in all honesty, I could have handled that on my own without him getting my brother's attention. Luckily the guy let go off and sat back down on his tree trunk, but if I hadn't pulled Tom away, I would have been sure that one of them would have had a black eye by now.

"Whoa- whoa-" He scolded, almost tripping over the sand.
"The fuck was that?!" I yelled in a whisper. In the meantime, we were standing on the side of the road, far, far away from the crowd.
"What?!" He questioned.
"You can't just step in front of me and pretend to be protective when HE'S sitting there watching!" He turned his head towards the crowd, following my index finger which I pointed towards Harrison only to find him himself.
"Harrison?"
"Yes Harrison! He's going to kill us!" I threw my hands up in the air, desperate in the situation. And when he stared at me with those brown eyes, he even managed to get me nervous.
"Fine. But that guy was an idiot. Didn't you hear what he said? I had to step in between." he discussed. Probably right so. I pressed my forehead into his chest, murmuring a desperate 'I know' without even realising how close I was to him. It just felt so normal to be close to him. He felt it too!

Then he took my face between his palms and lifted my chin until I was staring into his eyes. He had no idea what he wanted to do, but what was certain was that he wanted to see my eyes. Both our breaths were taken away, my hands somehow made their way onto Tom's belly, but belly also meant abs, and abs meant physical contact, which we were not supposed to have.
"Tom..." I whispered. But he overheard my soft voice and took the chance to devour my lips. And as much as I fought, I couldn't help but melt into the kiss.

It wasn't a long make-out session. About 30 seconds, but it was enough to make my cheeks flush red and take my breath away completely. Thus the second kiss within 24 hours. I felt so stupid. Making out with someone else's boyfriend...

"Oh no-" I said. "No, no, no, no, no." I started to freak out, hitting his chest again and again with my palms to push him away from me.
"Y/N-" he tried, wanting to calm me down. But I did not stop. Why did he always manage to wrap me around his little finger? I didn't want to play his stupid game any more. "Y/N stop!" But I didn't. That's when he took both my wrists in his hand and pulled me towards him until I yelped under his grip. I had no chance of beating him any more unless I kicked him, but I wasn't that crazy.

"Look-" he started. "I know kissing me freaks you out, but if it's because of Harrison, it's not a reason. He can't forbid you anything, and damn it Y/N, you know that yourself."
"It's not only because of him, Tom!" I couldn't believe that he really didn't waste a single thought on his girlfriend. Was he just like that? Someone who would cheat without a guilty conscience? I wanted him to find out for himself, but apparently it was harder for him than I thought. "You have a girlfriend. One who is probably sitting at home, wondering if her boyfriend is cheating on her. And I can't be the person to ruin this relationship."

"But you're not ruining anything!" He yelled. "You're not ruining anything because I'm not even with her anymore. All right?! I don't know what she's doing, how she's doing or where she is because I don't care! You are the only thing running through my mind and I don't know how to turn it off. Tell me where the switch is and I'll do it. As if I hadn't tried it yet." He let a desperate whine escape his throat. Not knowing what else to say. Eyes scanning everything around us but me. "Damn it, Y/N." He whispered, a single tear stinging his left eye. Then he looked me in the eyes again, all to say- "I love you."
