Ayaan's P.O.V.
Back in my room, after the meeting with the sponsors. I tried looking for Ankita on social media but there was nothing. Her social media accounts were unused for three years. Her number was no longer used and there was no news about her from anywhere. I know that she is alive. But where is she? She said in her letter to Rohan that she won't commit suicide or anything of that sort and from the time I have known her, I can guarantee that she won't do that also. Every little hope springs in new cities and dies out just as quickly. But why am I so restless? Is it because of the badge? Has to be! My curiosity won't end until I meet this Ankita. Aarav came to my room and said, "I am going to the beach. Wanna come?" "No. I'll stay here," I said. "Suit yourself," he said shrugging his shoulders and left. I sat in my room and looked outside at the beach.
Ankita's P.O.V.
Since I had the day off, I decided to take a trip with Rohan and Priya to the beach to have some fun. We got ready and reached for Nana and Nani. They locked up their home and we all took the shortest way, the back of their house. We reached shortly on the sand and looked around. It was relatively empty and we set up a small area with towels and umbrellas to relax. Rohan went in the water and began splashing around happily. I sat with Priya and Nani as Nana joined Rohan. "Ankita, if you don't mind, can I say something?" Nani asked. "Of course, anything," I said munching on some snacks. "If I get a boy for you, will you marry him?" She asked. I frowned and looked at her. "Nani, I..." I started but she cut me off saying, "Please don't say no. The boy is a great boy. Just meet him once." I looked away. Until now, I had no courage to tell them the truth of my past. "I'm sorry Nani. I know that you mean well for me. But I can't marry anyone else," I said. "Anyone else? Is there already someone?" She asked. I looked at her silently and then said, "There is nothing like that. I just don't want to get married." "But a girl needs someone to spend her life with," she said. "I don't need anyone else. I have you all. That's enough," I said. "Ankita..." Priya started but I said frustrated, "Please Priya. I have a day off. Please, let me enjoy it. I don't want to talk about marriage or groom prospects." "Do you have a past?" Priya asked. I frowned at her and got up silently. "I'm going for a walk," I said and left.
I walked along the beach silently with a frown. Taking out the chain from inside my clothes, I held Mom's ring and spoke to her, "Maa, you know what's going on inside me, don't you? I can't marry anyone else besides Ayaan. He's my first and last love. If I can't spend my life with him, then I won't spend it with anyone else. I will love him till my last breath." Later that day, I laid on my bed without taking any of my pills and stared at the fan spinning on the ceiling. Nothing but memories of Ayaan flooded my memory and the most painful ones of when he was leaving. It always sent a shiver my up spine and I never seem to fail tearing up when it comes to me. I cuddled up with Rohan and continued waking.
The next morning, I left early for the hotel. I reached, got ready but I wasn't finding my name badge anywhere. I searched my locker and it wasn't there. Did I lose it? I went to Charlie and told him about the situation. "Don't worry Ankita. I will get another one for you," he said calmly. "I'm sorry sir. I didn't mean to lose it," I said frowning. I turned to leave but he stopped me saying, "Oh yes! Our VIP guest has arrived and he is in the second floor presidential suite. Your floor. Please ensure that his room is cleaned properly and whatever he needs, he has it." "I will sir. By the way, who is he?" I asked out of curiosity. "He's..." he started but his phone rang and I excused myself. Without thinking much of who he was, I went and began work. As I cleaned a few rooms and was leaving, I bounced into Charlie. "Sorry sir," I said. "Ankita, how many times have I told you? Not sir, Charlie," he said. "I'm sorry," I said. "It's ok. Are you tired yet?" He asked. "I have only cleaned three rooms," I said. "Come with me," he said and began walking in the corridor. "How is your grandfather now?" He asked. "He's fine. Thank you for allowing me to spend time with him yesterday. I really appreciate it," I said. "It's ok. I understand the meaning of family. And I'm not that sort of dominating and cruel boss," he said. "No. You're the best," I said and he smiled at me. "Oh here we are," he said and stopped in front of the presidential suite. I looked at him without anything going through my mind. "The guest kept asking about you yesterday. I don't know how he asked for you and even knows your name," he said and I looked at him a bit nervous. Who can it be? Was it someone from my past? Charlie rang the doorbell and my heart raced thinking about all the possible people it can be.
